3. train their ability of summarizing the main ideas of each para.

Teaching Procedures:
Step 1: Lead-in——Free talk
Students will be asked to discuss the following two questions at the beginning:
Q1: What achievements has the world made in space exploration so far
Q2: What benefits has the exploration brought to us

Step 2: Prediction
Students will be asked to read the title and the first paragraph to know the type of the passage:

Step 3: Reading
Activity1:Read for skills of Gap-filling
Students will be asked read the missing sentences altogether and revise the steps to this exercise.
Step1: 读选项——找关键词,并进行大致分类

(主语、宾语;代词(this,they,them等);逻辑连接词(although,also,because等);逻辑顺序词(first,then,besides等);复现词(近义词,反义词,同义词等:)
Step2:细读首段——掌握话题
Step3:上下文联系(逻辑,复现词)——关注挖空位置;遇难则跳
Step4:带入文本检查
Students will be asked to underline the key words in the sentences, and categorize the sentences.
Students will be asked to choose the answer to the first gap altogether. And tell the reason why.
Students will be asked to read the first para again and try to summarize the main idea with their own words.
