活动一:感知与注意(Part 1,P43)
Ask students to look at the pictures below and guess whether they would be useful for astronauts in space.

活动二:获取与梳理
Listen for specific information.(Part 2,P43)
Go through the questions with students. Ask students to listen to the interview and answer the questions.
1 What did Captain Brown usually wear inside the station?
2 How did he prepare his food in space?
3 How did he keep himself clean in space?
4 How did he spend most of his time in space?
5 What did he do during his free time?
6 What did he look forward to most during his stay in space?
Suggested answers:

活动三:获取相关背景信息
Do you know how astronauts live in space
Turn over and you will float elsewhere.
It’s more fun to walk in a spaceship. a person will float into the air with a little effort, and they may step back with a cough. In order to walk smoothly, astronauts wear shoes with hooks on the soles to hook the floor with mesh firmly.
Taking a bath in a spaceship is not easy. The water sprayed from the shower nozzle always floats in the air. To solve this problem, scientists have designed a special hower that sprays water in one direction.
When drinking water with an ordinary cup, even if the cup is inverted, the water will not flow down. Because in a spaceship, water becomes weightless. For astronauts to drink water, they must use a plastic cup that comes with a straw.

活动五:描述与阐释(Part3,P43)
Work in groups. Ask students to imagine they are going to a space camp and Captain Brown has been invited to give a talk. Discuss the questions they would like to ask him and then make a list.
EXAMPLE
A: Hey, guys. We are going to meet a real astronaut. Isn’t it exciting
B: Yeah. I can’t wait to see Captain Brown! I’ m really curious about his life in space. I have plenty of questions to ask him.
C:Such as?
B:Oh,such as what facilities do they have in space to support their daily life?
C:That sounds like a good question. But I’d also like to know about how astronauts sleep what do they do so as not to float around while they sleep?
