Hurricane
Hurricanes are strong tropical storms, and they usually occur in the southern Atlantic Ocean, The Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.
Hurricane Katrina was one of the deadliest hurricanes that hit Louisiana on August 29, 2005. It was
the most destructive natural
disaster in U.S. history.
It impacted 93,000 square
miles. Its storm surge crested
at 27 feet.

Katrina formed on the Atlantic Ocean, where there was a tropical depression.

It hit mainly the Southern states, including the south of Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
