Step I 学习理解
活动一:获取框架
Understand the importance of creative thinking
1.Ask students to read the brief introduction and make sure they understand its meaning.
Most great scientists have the ability to see the world in ways that other people do not, and to come up with new ideas that other people have never thought of. In many cases, this has caused other people to think that they are crazy at first. However, that thinking ability is important to their creative process.
2. Discuss these questions in groups.
·What is the purpose of each invention
·Why is the invention unusual
3. Choose one of the inventions, and brainstorm as many reasons as you can to explain how and why the invention is useful
4. Divide the following tasks within your group:
·write down ideas for the invention
·serve as the presenter for the product/invention
·make props and pictures for the invention
【设计意图】通过讨论发明的目的、发明的不同寻常之处、发明的主要想法等问题,为学生创造发明做好准备。

活动二:介绍发明过程
Process of the invention
1.The introduction of product.

活动三:准备报告
Make the PPt or a poster for the presentation
Ask students to choose 3-4 classmates to make a new group Make a PPT or a poster for their presentation.
活动四:全班做报告
Make the presentation
1.Ask students to create their product and present it to the class.

【设计意图】通过查找资料,小组讨论,制作PPT和海报,再组织语言,在自己的小组展示报告,推选优秀的发明报告和全班分享,这本身就是语言学习和创造的过程。通过这个活动,不仅可以引发学生的思考和对本单元话题的兴趣,而且激发学生用英语表达的愿望和信心。
