The styles of Western art have changed many times over history. Art ①________ (influence) by the way of life and beliefs. Western painting styles vary a great deal overtime. During the Middle Ages, paintings were full of religious symbols. With time going on, the Renaissance took place, during which period painters began to adopt a more humanistic attitude to life. Then Impressionism emerged in the late 19th century and painters focused on nature and daily life. Modern Art began in the 20th century, and painters began to paint the world in a new way.
