Recnetly, I have read the survey from parents about “after-school classes for children”. Different parents have different ideas .
Some parents thinks kids should take after-school classes. Here are the reasons. First, they think after-school classes can help kids get into a good university so that they take their children to all kinds of after-school classes on weekends. Second, they also want their children to be successful because they think getting good grades is the key to success.
However, some parents are strongly against it. Their reasons are as follows. First of all, Some parents believe that students are too stressed out and too much pressure is not good for students’ development and mental health. What’s more, Children need to have a good rest on weekends. If so, they will study better on school days.
Personally speaking, I firmly support the view that kids shouldn’t take after-school classes. On the one hand, the kids already have enough stress from school. If they go to after-school classes, they will have so much stress that they can’t stand. Then, they may start to hate studying. On the other hand, the kids study hard at school on weekdays, so they often feel tired after a week’s study. If they join in the after-school classes, it will waste their relaxing time. What’s more, it will affect (影响)their study and their grades may drop.
In short, It’s not wise of parents to push their kids so hard. life shouldn’t just be about grades. Free time activities like sports and hanging out with friends are important for them, too. They should have their own time to relax and do what they love to do.
