Passage 1
Today many students have poor eyesight. This brings them lots of trouble in their life and study. They even get into problems because of this sometimes. They should obey the following instructions to protect their eyes.
“Feed” eyes. Eyes are just like any other part of the body. They need healthy food to work well. That means students need to eat fruit and vegetables. Fish and eggs are also good for their eyes. Carrots are the most important of all the vegetables.
Exercise eyes. Exercising eyes daily will help eyes keep healthy and good sight. The best time to exercise is when they wake up, before going to bed or when their eyes are tired. Make sure their hands are clean so that they don’t infect (感染) their eyes and their mind is also relaxed.
Rest and relax eyes. Since they use the eyes when they wake up, they must have enough time to sleep every night to fully rest and repair the sight. If they spend fifty minutes on a computer screen, television screen or a book, they must try to rest their eyes for at least ten minutes.

Felicia Grimmenhag from Sweden doesn’t let anything get in her way, even a life-changing accident.
After a serious car accident, Felicia had to get used to getting around in a wheelchair(轮椅). But that didn’t stop her from following her dream of becoming a top horse rider.
In early June 2011, 17-year-old Felicia got hit by a car. When she woke up in the hospital, she found both of her legs were missing. However, Felicia didn’t quit trying to achieve her dream. She wanted to get back on the horse. She had ridden as a little girl and decided in the hospital to try again. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to. But after ten weeks’ training, she could ride once again!
“The horses have meant a lot to me,” Felicia said.“When I sit on a horse, I don’t feel like the disabled Felicia, but I feel like the confident(自信的) Felicia.”

It is everyone’s duty to help animals to stop extinction(灭绝). As a student, there are so many things you can do yourself too! Please look at the following tips (建议) to help the endangered animals.
Send a letter to your local environment protecting center and show how you feel about the quick extinction of animals. Use the facts to write what you have found. Give some advice to the officers who make the strong rules to save animals.
