Lesson 2 Period 1
教材分析
本课是一节听力课,两份听力材料中,第一份是一个演讲,主题是人为什么需要幽默,讲述幽默的生理和心理作用;第二份是Mike讲述一次尴尬经历并巧妙运用幽默化解的故事。
教学目标
在本课学习结束时,学生能够:
1. 学会使用三个discourse markers用例子阐释想法;
2. 理解幽默对人的生理和心理作用,并在生活中运用幽默。
教学重难点
【教学重点】
1. 学生能够理解幽默带来的生理作用和心理作用的区别;
2. 理解幽默的好处,并在将来的学习和生活中运用到幽默。
【教学难点】
正确使用for example, for instance和one example of this这三个表达,加强对句子的阐释。
教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Group Work: Share humorous things you have heard or experienced.
设计意图:创设问题情景,学生分享经历过的或听过的幽默故事,引出本课话题。
Step 2 Pre-listening
1. Group Work: Talk about your understanding of humour and what it can do for us.
2. Examples: I think humour is hard-wired into us.
设计意图:引导学生分享对幽默的理解,为即将展开的话题作词汇准备和语境准备。
Step 3 While-listening
1. You will be listening to a speech about the effects of humour. Predict the answers to the questions, then listen to check.
(1) What question does the speaker try to answer in his speech
(2) From what aspects will he further discuss the question
2. Listen to part 2 of the plete the list of physical effects that humour can have on our body. Then talk about them in pairs.
3. Listen to part 3. Complete the information about the two psychological effects of humour on our mind.
设计意图:听取关键信息,理解幽默带来的生理和心理作用。
4. Skill Builder: Using Questions to Draw Attention
5. Listen to the speech again. Write down the questions that the speaker used in his speech. Then summarise the questions that the speaker used in his speech.
设计意图:了解和学习引读者或听众注意表达方式。
6. Listen to a dialogue and find out Mike’s embarrassing situation and his way to handle it.
7. Listen and plete the Talk Builder.
设计意图:帮助学生理解没有实例的定义阐释是难以理解的,使学生学会for example, for instance和one example of this这三个discourse markers的使用方法。
Step 4 Post-listening
Group Work: Talk about the benefits of humour based on your own experience and elaborate on them with examples.
设计意图: 学生进行输出,巩固本堂课所学。
Step 5 Assignment
Organise your discussion into a short passage, and then share it in class. Try to use as many newly-learned expressions as possible.
设计意图: 根据所学知识,梳理讨论内容,深度理解幽默的积极作用,并在生活中使用幽默。
