Xu Xiake was a famous traveller in the Ming Dynasty in China. He was born in 1587, and died in 1641.
　When Xu Xiake was young, he was deeply influenced by his father. From an early age, he was interested in reading books about history, geography, exploration and travel. And he made up his mind to travel around his country. Later, he succeeded in doing it. He wasn’t afraid though he was in danger many times during his trips.
　Xu Xiake wrote his famous work The Travel Diaries Xu Xiake to record what he experienced while travelling. He is so great that we will remember him all the time.

I’ve come back home safe. I’m writing this letter to thank you for looking after me in the UK.
You have been really very kind and friendly to me. You’ve provided me with such a comfortable house. Mrs Green has always cooked delicious food for me. You have made me feel like par of the family so that I can get used to the life here more easily. What’s more, you’ve often helped me with my oral English, so I can do well in the school study and communicate with my classmates. During my stay with you, I have a much better understanding of the British culture. Besides, we now have become close friends. I’m glad to know that you now have great interest in Chinese culture and are even beginning to love it. I have enjoyed my stay in the UK so much.
Thank you for your kindness again. I hope you can come to Guangzhou. I will be you guide.
