Part 1
①He turned to me, with his eyes full of horror.
②Fear slowly creeps upon her.
③A flood of fear welled up in him.
这句话把fear(恐惧)与flood(洪水)联系起来,很亮眼的一个表达。
①Her face turned pale and stood there tongue-tied.
② She shook all over, feeling like sitting on pins and needles.
needle针,pin大头针,feeling like sitting on pins and needles翻译成“如坐针毡”,中英文在这个表达上有异曲同工之妙!
①He turned to me, with his eyes full of horror.
②Fear slowly creeps upon her.
③She was struck with horror when...
④She was choked by fear.
⑤Her face turned pale and stood there tongue-tied.
⑥A flood of fear welled up in him. / Fear flooded over him.
⑦Her heart beat so violently that she felt nearly suffocated(窒息).
⑧She shook all over, feeling like sitting on pins and needles.
① Overcome with bitter disappointment at his failing to win a prize, he locked himself up in his room.
② He was dismayed to learn of their disloyalty.
① When I saw the pile of dirty dishes, my heart sank.
② The news that he didn't win prize immediately threw him into low spirits.
③ I feel like all my insides have been drained out and I feel empty and let down.
“all my insides have been drained out ”,内心已经被排光了,流干了,直接对应了后面的empty。
Joy welled up inside her.
She was overflowing with happiness.
Hearing this, everybody was wild with joy.
A smile of understanding flashed across his face.
Laughter lingered around the room.
She laughed, with her eyes shining with excitement.
① The smile on her face shone like a diamond.
② A smile of understanding flashed across his face.
③ A ripple of excitement ran through them.
④ Laughter lingered around the room.
⑤ His eyes twinkled with pleasure.
⑥ A wild gaiety(快乐) took hold of her.
⑦ Unforgettable were her eyes that shone like diamonds and lips held in a steady smile.
⑧ I was wild with joy.
⑨ I was pleased beyond description.
⑩ She wore a shining smile on her face.
I was touched to find that…
I was touched to find that they had prepared food for me.
② Touched deeply, I…
Touched deeply, I waved goodbye to the family.
Tears filling her eyes, she offered her heartfelt gratitude.
With tears streaming down her face “泪水顺着她的脸颊流了下来”来代替“Tears filling her eyes,”前一句是写眼泪还在眼睛里,后一种是写眼泪流了下来。
所以这句话的后面“she offered her heartfelt gratitude”(表示衷心的感谢。)
Holding the paper bag tightly, I stood still, a warm current rising in my heart.
用“a warm current rising in my heart”即“一股暖流涌入心头”,用这格句子来表达感动,是不是很有逼格呢?
Mac feel moved with tears in one's eyes.(麦克感动得热泪盈眶)
①Touched deeply/immensely, we…
② Tears filling her eyes, she offered her heart felt gratitude.
③ With tears streaming down her face,she...

Have you ever had to overcome an extreme challenge in your life
My teenage years had been insane. From schoolwork to athletics, I had always been running around. Everything was so difficult.
Throughout my hectic teenage years I have been faced with many extreme challenges that have required extreme focus and hard work to overcome. If it hadn’t been for hard work, none of these challenges that I faced would have been conquered.
Two years ago, when I was a freshman in high school, I dealt with an extremely significant injury. This took place in my tennis tournament in Januaty. In the climax of my match, I jolted my back to the left and soon after felt a sharp, painful shock run through my spine. I knew at that difficult moment I seriously injured my back. I was rushed off the court and my parents made an appointment with an orthopedist (矫形外科医生) for the next morning.
I walked into the office extremely nervous and suffering from excruciating pain. My tennis season for school started in three months and I absolutely needed to build up the strength.
After about twenty minutes of waiting in the office, which felt like an eternity, the doctor walked in to examine my X-rays. With a sorrowful face, the doctor looked into mine and my mother's eyes and said, There is a 50/50 chance that Lucas will be able to participate in this yearns tennis season. Lucas broke his L5 vertebrae in his lower back." My heart dropped and I felt a sadness come over me. The doctor said that I would be sitting out of physical activity for two and a half to three months.
Those three months were the longest three months of my life. I was so eager to get back to practices for the season.Every day, I would think about how it was going to be when I was fully healthy. I asked myself, "Am I going to be out of shape Should I even play this year I probably won't have a successful season. "
From that dreadful day on, I decided that I was going to put in the work to be back in top form and have a successful season.

After a very meaningful conversation with my dad about the old days, we came up with an object that we both remembered clearly. It was my very first bicycle. My mind told me I got it when I was seven, who was cheated to ride it for fifty yards alone the first time I tried!
My dad put together all the small pieces of the bicycle from a beautiful material that he called, “Your own car.” Of course I knew he had some magical ability, but I didn’t think he could make such an awesome object. He added the seat and the pedals (踏板) so that I would not have any problems. My dad recalled the bicycle was the smallest he could find while I remember how huge it was. I was so afraid of it and there was no way that I was going to control that monster-sized material. The bicycle was left in my backyard as a decoration for a month because I refused to ride it. Honestly, I was scared to try it.
After a month, my dad gave me a lecture to teach me what being a man was all about. I was finally determined to try it. My dad was proud of me and I felt very manly. He and I went to the park to see what we could do there.
The park was empty when we arrived. I had no doubt that my dad told everybody not to be there because we had to use it. I felt sorry for other people, but I was proud to have such an omnipotent (全能的) person as my dad.
We found a smooth and open space. My dad was holding the back part of the seat to make sure I didn’t fell. He promised me that I was not going to fall because he would be running right behind, holding the bicycle.

1.续写词数应为150左右;

I turned around and found my dad was not behind. I was so scared I felt like I was going to fall at any moment. Sure enough, after shaking my body several times, I fell to the ground. I was very angry with my father why let go of my hand and let me ride alone. My father smiled and said to me: "It's OK, stick to it for a while." Then he started to teach me how to keep my center of gravity in balance. I learned the skills my father taught me, and repeated the practice several times.
I started to pedal and the bicycle moved. The bicycle moved when I pressed on the pedals. I rode for some distance and I felt my body was in balance. I felt that I could ride independently slowly, while my father was cheering for me. Finally I could ride a bike just like a free bird flying happily in the air.

Shrieking Toad and Dancing Ant
Kids got nicknames at a summer camp, and mine is Shrieking Toad I guess it was my fault that I couldn't get a cool one.
A bunch of us campers were on our first nature walk. When we broke for lunch, we sat down on logs. I was on my nuts when a tree frog dropped onto my shirt from the branches above. I shrieked. It was totally unconscious and I didn't even know I could make a sound like that. Most kids forgot about it except Stan. Whenever I walked by, he'd shout, “Shrieking Toad, show us how you can hop!” I corrected him that it had been an eastern gray tree frog, not a toad, but that just made things worse.
Three days later, Counselor Matt announced we would be paired for a treasure hunt. Excited whispers spread through the camp. But when he read “Jay and Stan” as a team, my nerves got completely fried. Stan shouted, “Great! Shrieking Toad!” Then he called to the group, and I went red at what came out of his mouth. “Guys, if mosquitoes are bugging you, ask Shrieking Toad to eat them. Toads love bugs!” Kids roared with laughter.
After all the teams wandered off, Stan and I were alone. Then I had a great idea, surprising myself that I hadn't thought of it earlier. I suggested we split up so as to have a better chance of finding treasures. “Yeah, I'd better do what I'm toad (told).” Stan laughed and set off.
Ten minutes later, I heard something that reminded me of myself a few days ago. I ran toward the sound. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Stan was jumping around near a mud pool like a monkey, shrieking and yelling something that sounded jumping around near a mud pool like a monkey, shrieking and yelling something that sounded like “Dance! Dance!” Seeing him scratching at his body and hitting at his clothes made me realize what he was really saying: “Ants! Ants!”

Para 1:
I rushed towards Stan and tried to help him. He was hitting his clothes violently. I did what must be done. I pulled him into a mud pool. He was shocked at first, and then he must have realized why I did it. The ants went away. Since Stan and I were both covered in mud, we decided to head back. “I guess you’re going to have a pretty good story for everyone,” Stan said awkwardly. “Yeah, I guess so. You’ll probably be known as Dancing Ant from now on.”
Para 2:
That night, we all routinely sat around the campfire and I saw Stan's worry as clear as daylight. I knew how it felt to be teased; it wasn’t fun. I could see Stan’s worry which then turned into surprise. The next day when I was picked for a basketball team, someone called, “Unfair! Shrieking Toad’s a natural jumper!” Stan shouted, “Knock it off, guys. His name is Jay.” I wouldn’t have minded being given a cool nickname. But being known as plain “Jay”, and Stan’s friend, turned out to be cool too.

Ants!”
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
I rushed towards Stan and tried to help him.

That night, we all routinely sat around the campfire and I saw Stan's worry as clear as daylight.
