We call this an online trip because it is on the computer. Today,we will visit Alnwick Castle.”Mr Johnson teaches us Geography. After saying that in class,he taught us how to use the computer to visit the castle.
Alnwick Castle is a real castle in England. It is about 250 miles north-east to Oxford, about twenty miles south to Scotland and forty miles north to Newcastle. During our wonderful and special trip,we knew that the castle was first built for military(军事的)use in 1096. Since 1309 it has become a living house. Some modern things were added in the castle gradually. It was even one of the first homes in England to have electricity(电). Now it is a comfortable and large place to live."It is one of the largest inhabited castles in England. The Percy family live in the castle but now they only use part of it. Parents are often surprised at their children's ability to use technology. A five-year-old child may easily find and use apps on a smartphone. A ten-year-old child can move up through the levels of a video game easily. The parents may think their children were born geniuses(天才)!
Natural geniuses, however, are not common. But your parents are right if they think you are smarter than them. Most children are born smarter than their parents. This has been proved(证明)on IQ tests around the world recently. These tests have shown that over the last 100 years, each new generation(一代人)has become smarter than the older ones. In other words, you are smarter than your parents and your parents are smarter than your grandparents.
This increase in intelligence is called the“Flynn Effect”. It was named after James Flynn.Flynn is a university professor(教授)in New Zealand. He first noticed this in 1980. According to his research, with each new generation, average(平均的)IQ scores would increase by twenty per cent.
But why are people getting smarter Flynn and many other researchers believe that this has something to do with technology. New technologies have further developed our brains. They have made us think better. So we may be better at completing the missing parts of a puzzle than our parents.
But being smart doesn't make you wise. Wisdom(智慧)comes with age and experience.A high score on a computer game will not help you solve the everyday problems. For that,a smart kid will turn to the wisdom of his parents and grandparents.

Now computers are really common in our daily life.
Some people think computers are very helpful. They can help us do a lot of things. When we want to buy something,we don't have to go out. Instead,we can shop online. When we want to read,we can download e-books.
However, others think computers aren't good. Some students spend too much time on computer games every day. It's bad not only for their studies, but also for their health.
I think we students need to know how to use computers properly. If we make good use of them, they will be our friends. Otherwise, they will do harm to us in many ways.
