1. 一般现在时 do/does
（1）表示现在经常性、习惯性的动作或状态，常和often, sometimes, always, every day, usually等连用。
e.g. He often goes to work by bus.
（2）表示客观事实、科学真理
e.g. Confucius is regarded as a symbol of China’s traditional culture.
He proved that the earth is not round.
（3）在时间、条件、让步状语从句中表示将来的动作或状态。
e.g. You will surely succeed if you try your best.
2. 一般过去时 did
(1)过去经常性、习惯性的动作或状态
e.g. When I was in the countryside, I often visited my old friends there.
(2) 表示过去发生过的事情。
e.g. He bought a computer five years ago.
常和以下表示具体过去时间的状语连用：
yesterday, last night, last month, XX days ago,
XX years ago, in 2019等。

表示将来发生的动作或状态

4. 过去将来时 would do
表示从过去某一时间看，将要发生的动作或存在的状态，通常用于主语的谓语为过去时态的宾语从句中。
错误：The teacher informed us that we will hold an activity.
正确： The teacher informed us that we would hold an activity.
5. 现在进行时 am/is/are +doing
（1）表示此时此刻正在进行的动作
e.g. (2014北京卷)
— Hi，let’s go skating.
— Sorry, I’m busy right now. I _________(fill) in an application form for a new job.
（2）表示现阶段正在进行的动作。
e.g.（2020海淀一模）Nowadays, with the cost of living rising, young people ___________ (suffer) from greater loneliness and pressure.

6. 过去进行时 was/were +doing
表示过去一个时间点（段）正在进行的动作。
e.g. Jack__________ (work) in the lab when the power cut occurred.

7. 将来进行时 will be doing
表示将来某一时刻或某段时间内正在进行的动作或存在的状态。
We will be having the most important English test at 3 p.m. on June 8th of 2023.
8. 现在完成时 have/has done
表示一个动作发生在过去，但影响一直持续到现在，常和in/over the past/few days/weeks/months/years, recently, so far, up to now, since+时间点， for+时间段等连用。
e.g. （2020东城一模）As a result, the number of these birds __________ (grow) from just 20 pairs to 40 pairs in the past two years.

9. 过去完成时 had done
（1）表示过去某一时刻或动作以前已经完成了的动作，即“过去的过去”
e.g. By the end of last month, we had finished all the work.
（2）表示从过去某一时刻开始，一直持续到过去另一时刻的动作或状态。
e.g. I had waited at the bus stop for 30 minutes when a bus finally came.
10. 现在完成进行时 have/has been doing
表示动作从过去某时开始一直持续到现在，并有可能持续下去。
e.g. She has been reciting the words all the morning.
辨析：现在完成时与现在完成进行时的区别
e.g. He has been coughing all night.
He has caught a cold recently.
现在完成进行时强调时间长度和动作过程，现在完成时强调动作的结果。
