定义
过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻
或某一段时间内正在进行或发生的动作。
过去进行时
结构
be（was/were）+ v-ing
过去进行时
1.一般在词尾加 ing。
2.以不发音的字母e结尾，先去e再加 ing。(去e)
3.以重读闭音节结尾，且词尾只有一个辅音字母，先双写这个辅音字母，再加 ing。（双写）
4.以-ie结尾，先将-ie改成y，再加 ing。（变ie）

用法1
过去进行时的基本用法主要表示
过去某一时刻正在进行的动作。
过去某一时刻正在进行
They were having dinner
at this time yesterday.
在过去的某一段时间内，正在做某件事
或持续某种状态。
用法2
He was sleeping from 3 to
5 yesterday.
表示过去某段时间正在进行
用法3
他的妈妈打来电话时，他正在做作业。
He was doing his homework when his mother called.
表示过去一个动作发生时，另一个动作正在进行:

While you were reading a book, I
was playing with your tail.
过去进行时表示同时进行的动作。
过去某个时间，前后两个动作同时进行
Take notes
过去进行时常与when, while连用，意思是“当……之时”。
while后面一般跟延续性动词，常用进行时；
when后面既可跟延续性动词，也可跟瞬间动词，常用过去式。
