并列复合句
一、概述
1.定义:指包含两个或两个以上互不相依的主谓结构的句子。
2.基本结构:简单句＋并列连词＋简单句
3.考点介绍:并列连词and, or, but的区别
二、并列连词前后简单句之间的关系
1. 并列关系
表示两者是并列状态,有前后之分但无主次之分,常用的并列连词为and,前后分句的时态往往保持一致。如:
They are watching TV and the others are listening to the radio. 他们在看电视,其他人在听广播。
2. 选择关系
表示在两者之间选择一个,常用的并列连词为or,前后分句的时态往往保持一致。如:
The children can go with us, or they can stay at home. 孩子们可以跟我们走,也可以待在家里。
3. 转折关系
表明两个概念彼此有矛盾、相反或者转折,常用的并列连词为but,前后分句的时态一致。如:
He was tired, but he didn’t stop working. 他累了,但他没有停止工作。
【注意】1.并列复合句有时不用并列连词,只在两个简单句之间用一个逗号或分号隔开。如:
We fished all day; we didn’t catch a single fish. 我们钓了一整天鱼,但一条鱼都没有钓到。
2.并列连词后面的简单句如果与前面的简单句有相同的部分,则相同的部分常可省略。如:
My father works in a factory and goes to work by bike every day.我父亲在工厂工作,他每天骑自行车去上班。
