A squirrel(松鼠)that was nearly killed nine years ago continues to visit the family that saved, raised and later sent her into the wild.
In October 2009, a four-week-old squirrel was almost killed by an owl(猫头鹰). Luckily, a wildlife rescue group saved her and left her in the care of Brantley Harrison and her family in South Carolina. The Harrisons often look after wild animals and later send them back into the wild.
The Harrisons named her Bella. With three other squirrels, Bella stayed in Brantley’s care until spring. During her stay Bella acted similarly to the other squirrels. In April 2010, the squirrels were sent back into the wild. Bella, however, wasn’t ready to leave her human family. Within days of being released, she started visiting them, looking for treats. Brantley said that the other squirrels also came back over the first few days, but within a week they stopped coming by and began to avoid people.
“Bella usually sits at the front door, waiting for someone to notice her. She comes almost day,” said Brantley. Her husband John often brings Bella nuts as she is usually waiting by the door for him. Actually Bella has become a member of the family.

If you feel sad or upset, remember not to watch a happy movie. A sad movie may be more suitable for you.
Some scientists at Ohio State University, the U.S., have found that sad movies can make people happier. They published their study in a magazine called Communication Research.
Scientists asked 361 college students to watch a sad movie called Atonement. The movie tells a story of two lovers who were separated. They died during World War II at the end of the movie. The 361 college students answered questions from the scientists before, after and three times during the movie to find out their different feelings, including sadness.
According to the result of the survey, scientists found out that people felt better after watching the sad movie. Scientists believed this was because the movie made them think about their own lives and pared to those of the unlucky lovers in the movie, their lives were full of hope.
“I want to live my life to the fullest, and this movie has made me think a lot,” one student wrote.
Silvia Knobloch-Westerwick, the leader of the study, explained that bad moods (情绪) would make people more thoughtful. “Good moods are generally a sign that everything is fine. You don’t have to worry, and you don’t have to think about problems in your life,” she said. “But bad emotions, like sadness, make you feel terrible about your situation. In a perfect world, everything would be free. Until then, earning discounts(折扣)for doing things you would probably already be doing—like walking to work—is the next best thing.
According to The Daily Dot, a free iOS app called Miles lets you earn points simply by getting up and going somewhere. When you earn enough points, you’ll be able to get gift cards and discounts for businesses like Amazon, Starbucks and Whole Foods.
The app is created to encourage eco-friendly travel, so the reward points you get depend on your transport. One mile in a car translates to one point, but a ride in an Uber or Lyft will get you double the points. Public transportation helps you get three points per mile, biking is five points per mile, and walking is 10 points per mile. Flying, on the other hands, will only give you 0.1 point per mile.
The trips will be recorded by the app itself. Of course, users have to allow the app to track their location at all times, which might make some people unhappy. The app’s CEO said the information collected from the app wouldn’t be shared with others.
How far do you need to travel to get the rewards Well, if you want to get something like a $5 Starbucks or Amazon gift card, you are supposed to have 2,500 pint---that is 250 miles of walking.

Chinese A-level has overtaken German for the first time, as it becomes the UK’s third most popular language.
