Do you know Xian Xinghai He was a very famous (1) (music) in China. He wrote one of the (2) (great) pieces of music of the 20th century. In his short life he wrote almost 300 songs and an opera.
Xian was born in Macao, China in 1905. Because his father died before he was born, Xian moved from place to place with his mother. He began (3) (learn) to play the violin when he was 13 years old. At first, his violin was so cheap and (4) (bad) made that he could not play it well. His friends laughed at him. Xian did not stop (5) (practice) and soon showed his talent. “Colour, colour, colour!” are the words of the artist Eric Carle. Eric is like the king in the world of children s books. He (1) (write) over 70 children s books.
