Aims and Objectives:
To introduce and practice present continuous tense.
To develop students' listening and speaking skills.
To encourage students to talk about their daily activities.
Materials Needed:
Textbook: "New Target 7th Grade English" by People's Education Press
Pictures of different daily activities
Worksheets
Whiteboard and markers
Warm-Up:
Ask students to stand up and do some physical activities such as jumping, clapping, or stretching.
Ask students to describe the activities they did using present continuous tense (e.g. "I'm jumping").
Presentation:
Introduce the present continuous tense using the textbook and pictures.
Model and drill the form and usage of the present continuous tense.
Write examples of present continuous sentences on the whiteboard and ask students to identify the verb and tense.
Practice:
1a. Students listen to the recording and circle the activities they hear.
1b. Students match the activities with the pictures.
1c. Students complete the sentences with the present continuous tense.
Play the recording for exercise 1a and ask students to circle the activities they hear.
Distribute worksheets and ask students to complete exercises 1b and 1c.
Check answers as a class.
Production :
Ask students to work in pairs.
Each pair chooses a daily activity and makes a sentence using present continuous tense to describe it.
Students take turns sharing their sentences with the class.
Homework:
Ask students to keep a diary for one day and write sentences using present continuous tense to describe their activities.
Assessment:
Observe students' participation in class activities and their ability to use present continuous tense correctly.
Grade completed worksheets and homework for accuracy and completeness.
