Hi Becca!
Karen and I are having a party at the weekend for our birthdays. I remember that your birthday is two days after mine. Would you like to come to the party with your family and celebrate with us I’m not sure how many people are coming, but I’m sure there will be a lot! The party will be at Karen’s house. Her parents have a large house with a really big living room and a kitchen. We’ll make lots of food. I’ll make some sandwiches, and Karen’s sister May is going to cook some chicken and hot food. We have lots of cakes and potato chips, so you don’t have to bring any food, but we don’t have any drinks. Can you bring some cola if you come Or maybe some orange juice If you drive here, you shouldn’t park your car on the road. You can park it in front of Karen’s house. There is a big parking lot (停车场). The party starts at 8:30 on Saturday morning and we have planned some interesting games. And you can wear your new black dress. It will be great! I have to go now. Hello, everyone! I just want to tell you what I’ve done recently. Well, we had some visitors from the UK, so Mum and Dad thought it would be nice to take them to Tropical Fruit World. They tasted very sweet!
Then we went on a walk with a woman from the farm, Betty. She showed us 50 different kinds of mangos (芒果)! Before, I thought there was just one kind of mango! Susan’s yard sale looks like every other one on the side of the road. But when you look closer, you’ll find there are no prices on any of the things for sale. If people want something, she lets them decide how much they want to pay. Someone may pay just a few dollars for 20 dresses, and someone else will pay $200 for a little thing to play with. After Susan’s Kindness Yard Sale, she will use the money to buy festival gifts for children, to hold a party for people in need, etc.
At the first yard sale, Susan sold her old things and raised $1,705. In the following years, more and more of her neighbours (邻居) joined in. They brought a lot of food, clothes, and other useful things. The yard sale is now a community (社区) thing.

An unforgettable day
Everyone has an unforgettable day in their lives.
On 15th August last year, I cleaned up a park with my five friends. At 8:00 am, we left for People’s Park by bus. It took us an hour to get there. There was a lot of rubbish in the park. We spent about 4 hours collecting all of it. We felt tired and hungry but very happy, because the park became cleaner and more beautiful. When we finished, it was already one o’clock. We had a big lunch in a restaurant. We ate and talked about our clean-up. We all thought it was meaningful.
I was proud of myself that day and I will always remember it.
