一、Teaching aims
1.Knowledge aims
Be able to correctly read and spell the following words according to the learned pronunciation, phonetic symbols, and pronunciation rules:
such as, community, child, children, a lot of, lots of, sport, close, close to, far, far from, service, area, colorful
Be able to skillfully use the "there be" sentence pattern in discourse narration to introduce the community, community environment, and surrounding facilities where you live;
Be able to communicate and make statements on topics such as "talking about the community environment and surrounding facilities", such as:
(1)There are a lot of tall buildings and small gardens in our community.
(2)There is a community service center in our area.
2.Skill aims
Able to understand simple classroom language and make appropriate responses;
Able to communicate on basic topics such as living environment and neighborhood relations based on pictures and texts;
Be able to understand relevant topics based on pictures and texts, and conduct learning activities according to requirements;
Be able to write short essays that introduce the environment of the community you live in.

二、The key points and difficult points
1. Be able to skillfully use the "there be" sentence pattern in discourse narration to introduce the community environment and surrounding facilities;
2. Be able to learn skills such as skimming, scanning, and intensive reading during the reading process.
三、Material analysis
Introduce students to the context of the reading material through the scenarios created by the pictures, present an introduction to the surrounding facilities of their own living community, and provide them with a model essay for writing; Students will also be required to write a short article introducing their community based on the content learned in 1a and their actual situation, which is an information output process aimed at cultivating students' writing skills; In the Phonics section, listen to the recording and complete different tasks to review the pronunciation you have learned, and cultivate students' ability to distinguish sounds, connect words, adjust sentences in ascending and descending tones, as well as correct reading habits. This lesson involves neighborhood relations. This lesson is also a reading lesson. 四、Teaching procedures
简介(5分钟)
1.Get students ready for learning.
2.Make the students practice the words about the community in written and oral work.
In our community, there are two banks. Near the banks there is a big supermarket. We can go shopping in it. In front of the supermarket there is a post office.
3.Suppose one of your neighbors comes to borrow your bike. Think about a conversation about what you may say, using the sentences about offering and asking for help.
A: Excuse me. I am your new neighbor, Jack.
B: Oh, welcome, Jack. Would you like me to help you
A: Yes, thanks. May I borrow your bike I want to go to the library, but it’s a little far from here.
B: Of course. Here is the key.
A: Thanks a lot.
B: You’re welcome.
4.Help the students revise the words about buildings in the community in Section B. Lead to 1a.

1.Present new words with the help of the pictures and flashcards.
Look at the pictures and say the places as quickly as you can. Then say the words according to your partner’s description in pairs.
A: My home is not far from my school. “Not far”...
B: “Close to”.
Work in pairs and complete the tasks before reading. Underline the places in English first. Then discuss with your partner, “Do you like living there Why ”
Read 1a and get the main idea of this passage.
Read again and fill in the blanks in 1b.
Read the third time and circle True or False in 1c. Discuss the answers in groups. The whole class check the answers together.
整合(10分钟)
Retell 1a in pairs with the help of the picture in 1a and the frame in 1b.
Some pairs retell the passage with your own words to the whole class.
练习(10分钟)
Do 3a. Read the word groups in 3a. Try to find the word with the different sound in each group. Then listen to the tape and check the answers with your partner. After that, read after the tape.
Do 3b. Listen to the teacher. Learn the gestures about the rising tone and the falling tone. Pay attention to the sound and the liaison. Discuss the rules with your partner. Then listen to the tape and read the chant aloud together. After that, some pairs read the chant to the whole class.

五、Teaching Reflection
In this lesson, students learn about the community environment, surrounding facilities, and neighborhood relationships through reading training activities such as pre reading, reading, and post reading, combined with teaching aids such as flash cards. In the comprehensive exploration of this lesson, students are asked to write an article introducing their community, which is undoubtedly a difficult problem for students who have insufficient vocabulary accumulation and weak grammatical knowledge.
