To provide practice in listening and speaking skills through role-play.
Materials:

Map of a familiar area.
Procedure:
Warm-up:
Start by asking students if they have ever been lost in an unfamiliar place and how they found their way. Ask them if they know any phrases or questions to ask for directions.
Vocabulary:
Introduce new vocabulary related to asking for directions such as "excuse me," "turn left," "go straight," "take the second right," and "it's on your left/right." Write the words on the board and ask students to repeat after you. Explain the meaning of each word and provide examples of how to use them in sentences.
Listening:
Play an audio recording of a conversation between two people asking for directions. Ask students to listen carefully and take notes on the phrases and questions used in the conversation. After the recording is finished, ask students to share what they heard and write the phrases and questions on the board.
Grammar:
Introduce the structure "Could you please tell me + question" and provide examples such as "Could you please tell me how to get to the park " and "Could you please tell me where the library is " Explain that this structure is used to ask for directions in a polite and respectful way.
Practice:
Distribute handouts with phrases and questions related to asking for directions. Ask students to work in pairs to read and discuss the phrases, using the vocabulary they learned earlier. Encourage students to practice asking and answering questions in a polite and respectful manner.
Role-play:
Divide the class into pairs or small groups and give them a map of a familiar area. Ask them to take turns asking for directions and giving directions using the phrases and questions they learned earlier. Encourage students to use the structure "Could you please tell me + question" when asking for directions. Walk around the classroom and monitor students' performance, providing feedback and corrections.
Conclusion:
Review the new vocabulary and grammar structure learned in this lesson. Encourage students to continue practicing asking for directions in English.
Assessment:
Observe students during the role-play activity and assess their ability to use the phrases and questions related to asking for directions. Give feedback on their pronunciation and use of vocabulary.
Homework:
For homework, ask students to create a map of their neighborhood or a familiar area, and write a list of directions for getting from one place to another. They should use the vocabulary and phrases learned in class to provide clear and accurate directions. Encourage them to be creative and include landmarks, street names, and distances. Collect the maps and directions at the next class and review them for accuracy and clarity. You can also ask students to present their maps and directions to the class, and have their classmates follow the directions to see if they can find the correct destination.
