In the near future, instead of going to your wardrobe (衣柜) to choose something to throw on for your next video call, you might turn to your virtual wardrobe to pick out a 3D digital dress to wear. At least, that's what a number of people in the fashion and tech space are relying on as more businesses look to the promise of digital fashion. Moreover, those virtual clothes won't just be for your video calls, but could eventually be worn all over the virtual world, and eventually, perhaps, viewed on your body in the real world through the Augmented Reality (AR) glasses.
“There are more and more second worlds' where you can express yourself. But there is probably an underestimation of the value being attached to individuals who want to express themselves in a virtual world with a virtual product, through a virtual image,”a marketing officer Robert said. As the field develops, there are two ways of using digital clothes—wearing them yourself through AR and providing digital clothes for your virtual body.
But why should we replace our physical clothes Supporters say there's unlimited creative expression through digital clothes, which now look increasingly more elegant thanks to developments in 3D and AR technology. “Clothing represents an expression of a personality. It always exists in the physical world, and it will exist in the virtual world,” said Simon Whitehouse, a designer.
He explained, “From the brand side, it's incredibly profitable to sell clothes without producing physical clothes. It's reinventing an entire supply chain. There's no water usage, there's very limited CO2 emission. There are no samples being sent out or returned. There are no show rooms, and there's no physical prototype (实物模型).”
4. What can you probably do in the near future according to paragraph 1
A.Open a virtual fashion clothing store.
B.Design 3D digital clothes for yourself.
C.Buy a bigger wardrobe for your bedroom.
D.Wear virtual clothes made by digital technology.
5. What can we infer from Simon's words in paragraph 3
A.AR technology will bring a challenge to people.
B.One's character will be seen in the virtual world.
C.Digital clothes will be more convenient for people.
D.One's expression only can be seen in the physical world.
6. What is Simon's attitude to digital clothing
A.Approving. B.Doubtful.
C.Unclear. D.Grateful.
7. What is the text mainly about
A.The increase in AR glasses. B.The digital fashion in the future.
C.The virtual body in digital clothes. D.AR glasses made by new technology.

At the World Internet Conference in East China, exhibitors are showcasing their latest technologies, but what’s been special this year is the concern of companies in dealing with cyber security (网络安全) challenges. Chen Tong has the story.
Chen Tong: At this year’s World Internet Conference, you can make your favorite pop star’s expression mirror your own. Just record your facial expressions first and the pop star will imitate your smile or frown. This technology is not new, and it’s already been used in many areas, such as cartoon products. But tech company QI-ANXIN has set up this product here to draw attention to another topic: data privacy and protection.
Hong Weifei (Security Expert, QI-ANXIN Technology Group): Because of the development of the technology, many people are using facial recognition technology to commit fraud (骗局). We hope to improve people’s awareness of personal security and not allow your fingerprints to be randomly collected.
Chen Tong: Safety has been a highlight at the exhibition, with some tech firms also providing solutions. Ant Group debuted (首次推出) its computer privacy solution called Morse Station, which can protect user data while also sharing it with other business partners. It’s the first time for Ant Group to showcase such technology, and the solution will be put into commercial use soon.
He Yuyao (Senior Product Manager, Ant Chain, Ant Group) : Industries such as finance and healthcare, which have a high demand for data protection and data storage, can use our Morse Station to protect their data.
Chen Tong: From 5G to Internet solutions, more than 300 domestic and foreign companies are showcasing their latest technologies at the exhibition. And these technologies aim to make the internet industry grow faster and safer.

Robot Teachers
If you think of the jobs robots could never do, you would probably put doctors and teachers at the top the list. 12
But are we underestimating what robots can do In some cases, they already perform better than doctors at diagnosing illness. Also, some patients might feel more comfortable sharing personal information with a machine than a person.
13 British education expert Anthony Seldon thinks so. And he even has a date for the robot takeover of the classroom: 2027. He predicts robots will do the main job of transferring information and teachers will be like assistants. 14 Then they will adapt the information to each student. It’s not a popular opinion and it’s unlikely robots will ever have empathy (同理心) and the ability to really connect with humans like another human can. 15 A robot teacher is better than no teacher at all. In some parts of the world, there aren’t enough teachers and 9-16 percent of children under the age of 14 don’t go to school. That problem could be partly solved by robots because they can teach anywhere and won’t get stressed, or tried, or move somewhere for an easier job.
Those negative aspects of teaching are something everyone agrees on. Teachers all over the world feel overworked because it is a difficult job. 16 Teachers waste a lot of time doing non-teaching work, including more than 11 hours a week marking homework. If robots could cut the time teachers spend marking homework and writing reports, teachers would have more time and energy for the parts of the job humans do best.
A.One thing is certain, though.
B.Could there be a place for robots in education after all
C.It is argued that robot teachers are likely to impact children’s privacy.
D.However, people are worried about the use of robot teachers in schools.
E.Intelligent robots will read students’ faces, movements and maybe even brain signals.
F.Perhaps the question is not “Will robots replace teachers ” but “How can robots help teachers ”
G.It’s easy to imagine robot cleaners and factory workers, but some jobs need human connection and creativity.

Ten-year-old Sami loved to visit his grandfather's house. The house was near the beautiful blue sea. At the seaside stood thick and tall palm trees with green coconuts hanging from them. When the coconuts fell down, Sami would break them open and drink the coconut water. Sami liked to play under the trees. It was always great fun to spend the holidays at Grandpa's place.
This winter vacation, Sami was surprised when he came to his grandfather's village. There were hardly any trees left. He saw houses built near the sea. People had cut down many palm trees and there was hardly any greenery left.
Grandpa's house was different. He never allowed his trees to be cut. He hugged each palm tree in his courtyard. He also named the two big trees near the front door--one was Petu, and the other Betu. He had planted them with his own hands and today they had become large, massive trees with thick trunks. They were tall and green and gave the sweetest, juiciest coconuts.
One night, Sami was awakened by a strange sound. He could not sleep. He tossed(辗转)and turned in bed.
Suddenly, the ground shook as if the earth was splitting. He sat up straight and then ran to Grandpa. He clung(附 着)to his grandpa tightly. Grandpa cried out, “It's an earthquake! It's an earthquake!" They ran outside the house. They thought that would be safe.
Suddenly, there was a loud sound; the earth was not splitting but the sea was roaring. People were shouting, screaming and crying, “The sea is rising! The sea is rising." The villagers started running away from the beach.
Sami watched dumbstruck(呆若木鸡).
The waves were rising higher and higher. Sami thought, “How big the waves are!" He went into the house again and saw water coming in from all sides. He was scared.
Sami remembered his mother telling him long ago, “You must always get out of the house if the floods come too near." He ran outside the house with Grandpa. But the water came surging(汹涌) in.
Waves about twelve meters high came rushing in, drowning everything. Water was all around and everywhere.
Paragraph 1:
Grandpa held Sami's hand tightly but a huge wave separated them.
Paragraph 2:
“Sami, Sami!” Grandpa cried. “Don't be scared, little one, come to me, quickly.”
