Cristina, a teen who grew up in a poor neighborhood in Madrid, never imagined herself playing the violin. But today she is first violinist in an inventive orchestra (乐团), bringing together two dozen other disadvantaged youths, using instruments made from recycled materials. “I am really happy, because the project has changed my life a lot,” said Cristina, her eyes gleaming.
Luis, 18, credits the project with keeping him on a right track in a neighbourhood like Vallecas, which has a high school dropout rate. “Instead of meeting up with friends, I preferred to listen to music, play it, and little by little it became a way of life,” he said.
The project, called “Music of Recycling”, aims to breathe new life into junk while also benefiting youths from disadvantaged backgrounds and it is run by Spanish environmental group Ecoembes and is inspired by Paraguay’s Cateura orchestra, made up of musicians from a poor neighborhood who play instruments made from materials found in waste.
After Ecoembes invited the Cateura orchestra to perform in Madrid in 2014, the group decided to found its own similar ensemble (小乐团) that same year, said Gil, the director of Music of Recycling. The ensemble put on its first concert just four months later and “the kids could not play more than four notes,” said Gil.
Now after having performed in cities across Spain, “We already have four boys studying in scholarships at music schools,” he added. More than 100 children are taking music classes from members of the orchestra as part of the project.
The instruments are created by Soler, a third-generation instrument maker, from cans, wooden boxes and parts of abandoned instruments. He tried to make the instruments as close to their “normal” shape as possible so the children won’t have difficulty playing regular equipment in the future.
24.What does the author intend to do by referring to Cristina and Luis
A.Praise the teens for their efforts. B.Introduce the startup of the project.
C.Show the effects of the project. D.Present ways to mix music and recycling.

A.A group of musicians. B.A children’s orchestra.
C.Disadvantaged youths. D.An environmental group.
26.What can we learn about the project
A.It was started in 2014. B.It was funded by the government.
C.It spread across the world. D.It made a large amount of money.
27.What’s Soler’s attitude towards the project
A.Doubtful. B.Supportive. C.Tolerant. D.Uncaring.

Chimpanzees (黑猩猩) enjoy watching movies together, scientists have discovered, in research that suggests social bonding through shared experience has deep evolutionary roots.
It is widely known that humans can bond over group activities such as watching a movie or playing board games. But it has been unclear whether the underlying psychology behind this effect is present in other species.
In the research, chimpanzees were placed in pairs and shown a short video. The researchers then measured how long it took them to approach their partners, how close they got and how long they remained in proximity (靠近) — two measures of social bonding.
Chimpanzees who had viewed the video with either another of their own species or a human approached their partner faster or spent longer in proximity to them, compared with those who had watched the video on their own, the scientists found.
The finding indicates that social bonding created by shared experience may have deeper evolutionary roots than previously thought.
“Animals can stand together and watch a waterfall, but they don’t seem to seek out those kinds of experiences,” said Wolf, an author on the study. “So for a long time we thought they weren’t capable of processing that way or they weren’t feeling any psychological consequences from doing so.”
“It’s exciting that at least some parts of the psychology that we need to connect through shared experiences may actually have a slightly older evolutionary history than previously suspected.”
The animals were tracked for only three minutes after they had watched the film, so it is not clear whether shared experiences strengthen social bonds in the long term. The research used animals in captivity (圈养), and scientists said it was not known whether the same effects would be observed in the wild.
28.What does the underlined part in Paragraph 2 mean
A.Experiencing social bonds. B.Sharing evolutionary roots.
C.Humans bonding over group activities. D.Chimpanzees watching movies together.
29.How did the researchers get the findings
A.By making a comparison. B.By introducing a concept.
C.By using an expert’s words. D.By referring to another study.
30.What did Wolf think of the research findings
A.Imperfect. B.Encouraging. C.Groundless. D.Doubtful.
31.What does the last paragraph mainly talk about
A.Approaches to future studies. B.New evidences of other researches.
C.The aspects which may need further tests. D.The application of the research findings.

The China International Search and Rescue Team(CISAR) was formed in 2001 and is now made up of several hundred rescue workers and about 20 police dogs. The team brings help and hope to those whose lives are changed by a storm, flood, earthquake, or any other natural disasters.
After long and careful training, the team went on its first international rescue tasks in 2003. That year, the Chinese team helped save lives after earthquakes in Algeria and Iran. It was the first time that a Chinese team had worked outside China whose members won high praise for bravery and skill.
Since then, the CISAR has completed many tasks. The list of people to whom help has been given is long. The team treated more than 3,000 people who were wounded in the 2006 earthquake in Indonesia, helped 2,500 wounded people after the earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010, and spent several months giving aid to over 25,000 people suffering from the 2010 floods in Pakistan. On April 26, 2015, a group of 62 people from CISAR went to Nepal after the 8.1 magnitude earthquake that happened there.
Rescue workers are trained to find people, treat wounds, and hand out food, water, and other supplies. They have to be able to do work that is difficult under conditions which can be very dangerous. After a disaster, there is usually no electricity or water, and there may be diseases and other dangers. Rescue workers get to save lives, but they must also bury the dead. That means they have to be strong in both body and mind.
Rescue workers must have big hearts, too. It takes a lot of love and courage to risk one’s own life to save someone else’s. The members of the CISAR have plenty of both and are always ready to go wherever help is needed.
32.What is the function of the numbers in Paragraph 3
A.To advertise for the CISAR. B.To add some basic information.
C.To praise Recue Workers’ contributions. D.To stress the dangers Rescue Workers face.
33.What is the author’s attitude towards Rescue Workers
A.Hopeful. B.Respectful. C.Curious. D.Supportive.
34.What are the last two paragraphs mainly about
A.The duty rescue workers must perform. B.The qualities rescue workers must own.
C.The difficulties rescue workers must go through. D.The willingness rescue workers should require.
35.What may be the best title of the passage
A.China to the Rescue B.How to train CISAR
C.Welcome to CISAR D.Rescue on request

Last week, I watched an old couple when they walked through a local thrift (节俭) store. I had just dropped off a bag of clothes and a few other items I no longer wanted. When I got the opportunity, I stopped by just to look through the old records. Yes, I called them records, not CDs or MP3s, simply records, those round plastic things from ancient times that had music recorded on them.
Anyway, this couple moved slowly around me in search of items they had on a list they held tight in hand. They didn’t say much, but occasionally talked with the other and picked an item up. “No, it’s not suitable for her and she dislikes it,’’ one would say and move on.
My curiosity always got the best of me until I satisfied it by asking. “Can I help you find something ” I asked. They stopped, looking at me. Then the man said, “We are looking for old things that look new. Look, every new year in the past we tried to begin the year with new things. It was a goal to surround ourselves with things fresh and new so that we had new direction, new hopes and dreams for the year ahead. More importantly, we can give some gifts to Eva.”
“Eva Who is she ” I asked. “She is a lovely 10-year-old girl we adopted three years ago. Her parents died in a serious traffic accident. She always wants to be a singer,” the man replied. When hearing those words, I felt sad and said, “I’m sorry for the girl. Can you tell me how does your search work out ” The lady sighed and said, “It took a long time for us to find a special gift, but we discovered it was in vain (徒劳的).”
I knew it’s difficult for the couple to solve the problem, so I decided to take action immediately. I said to the couplet can do you a favor. Please wait here for me.

2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

66.An Unforgettable Weekend
Last Sunday my classmates and I paid a visit to the elderly who live in the nursing home, which is located in the suburb of our city.
We gathered at the city park and went there by bus. It took us half an hour to get there. As soon as we arrived, we began to chat and play games with them. They were happy to be with us and told us some stories. When we left, we said goodbye to them and promised to visit them next time.
This activity helped me realize that it is rewarding to show concern about those in need. I feel a sense of achievement.
67.I turned around and ran out of the store. I knew I should go home to find something to help the couple. Then, I took a taxi. On the way home, I was thinking what I could give the girl as a gift. For me, the only hobby was music. So I thought I could give something about music as a gift, maybe a record. After arriving home, I found an old record which was given by my grandparents when I was ten years old. I believed Eva would love it.
When I returned to the store, the couple sat near the counter (柜台). Seeing me, they waved to me. I ran to them with the record in my hand. The man was surprised and asked me where I had gone. I gave them the record and told them, “This is a gift from my grandparents, and now it belongs to Eva.” The couple felt happy and showed their appreciation to me. Although the record meant a lot to me, I knew it would light up the girl’s sky. I felt proud of what I had done.

Curiosity about birds has inspired people to take up bird-watching in Shanghai. Many take it as an opportunity to spend time outdoors and get close to nature.
The most passionate people are usually equipped with cameras, and travel long distances and spend hours among woods in Nanhui or Chongming district, in order to see a new bird and take pictures of it. Others, especially parents with school-aged children, sign up for weekend bird-watching activities and join groups of 10 on trips to popular locations for bird-watching such as the Century Park in Pudong and the Gongging Forest Park in Yangpu district. Many studios and institutions provide such public educational events regularly.
More than 430 species of birds, about one-third of the total bird population in China, can be seen in Shanghai. The majority of birds in the city are migratory, passing by the southeastern tip of the city’s Nanhui and Chongming districts.
