2. Is the man swimming in the river (教材P34 1a)
man是可数名词,意为“男人;人;人类”。其复数形式为 men。man当“人类”讲时,前面不用冠词。其对应词为 woman (女人),复数形式为 women。
eg:Who’s the man under the tree 树下那个男人是谁?
They need three men to push the car. 他们需要三个男人来推车。
【拓展】man和woman作定语构成的复合名词变复数时,man/woman和后面的名词都要变成复数形式。
eg:There are two men doctors. 有两名男医生。
