What do you say after you burp (打嗝) In the US, people usually say “excuse me” after they burp. I do it all the time, even when I’m at my desk by myself.
But why do people say it in the first place
In Western culture, people think burping is a bit rude (粗鲁的). Burping loudly in public is especially rude. So when we burp, we say “excuse me”.
However, when we sneeze (打喷嚏), we don’t say “excuse me”. In fact, it is polite (有礼貌的) for other people to say “bless (祝福) you” when you sneeze. You don’t have to say anything yourself. This is partly because sneezing is hard to stop. However, you can usually stop your burps — or at least try to burp quietly.

There are big cities and small countrysides in the world. Different people like to live in different places. I lived in the city of Pittsburgh, but now, I am living in the countryside in Shelby, North Carolina. I know many differences between them.
