Recently I've started keeping a diary.I write down everything I need to do and when it needs to be done. Then I write a reminder a few days before the date just in case. It's helpful.
Amy:Thanks, Gloria! I agree.
Nick:25 May,2021-08:33
The most important thing is to start studying a few weeks before the exams and not to leave it until the night before! That's just common sense,I think.
Amy:Nice tip.Thanks,Nick.
Leo:25 May,2021-08:06
Hi,Amy!My tip is to have a big noticeboard in your bedroom and divide it into different sections.I've got one. It's a whiteboard.I've got a section for each school subject and the others for other stuff.I use board pens to write reminders and I make sure I look at it every day.The best part is when I remove something from the board!

Jonny,a 15-year-old student,is checking his dad's old jacket.He says,"You're 45, Dad. You're never going to wear it again.Can I have it "
Keith has had a bad day at work, and he is feeling old.And Jonny has hit him where it hurt.Keith raises his voice and says,"What You mean I'm too old to wear the jacket again "
Jonny feels like this has come out of nowhere, and now he feels hurt."But I only asked. Why are you shouting at me "
"But I don't like being treated as though I were too old.
Both of them feel a bit upset.
Have you ever had a similar argument with the people around you Here are some tips for you to remember when you're getting mad.
●Accept your feelings and consider the other person's feelings. That means not always thinking yourself "right"or "clever"and the other person "wrong"or "stupid".
●Express yourself. So you can speak out your ideas by starting with"I..."but not "You...”
●Don’t always reflect before reacting().If you feel angry,I think it’s a good idea to stop for a moment and understand why.
●Don’t decide the purpose of the other person by guessing.Try to figure out(弄清楚)what he or she is feeling, and admit(承认)it if you were wrong.
Don't forget that it's never too late to start the ways of communicating.

For as long as we can remember, one of the most popular ways parents use to punish their children has been the"time out".
It seems that it is a good idea:the child sits on his own to reflect on(反思)what he has done. Then, when the time is up,he will apologize and learn from the mistake.
However, just because it's something that's been done for years, that doesn't mean it is the right thing to do.In fact, very often, children don't sit nicely and think about what they've done.Instead, they need to be told a few (or many)times to go back to their places and stay quiet.
They're not reflecting on why they are in the "time out"at all.More likely than not, they're probably just really angry, and so are the parents. In the end, both the parents and the children make each other unhappy,or even angry.
What can parents do to change this situation You may have already heard of things like peaceful parenting (育儿)and gentle parenting.
These focus on the relationship between parent and child through building trust and love. So,instead of starting a "time out",try something called "time in".A "time in"needs both the parent and the child to stay close until both get calm. After that, the parent and the child can discuss what happened and solve the problem together. If the child can make changes, everyone can then move on.
As we all know, punishment and violence(暴力)seldom work and will never teach the children what the right way to act is.A "time in"can be a great time for the children to learn from mistakes.Children learn how to develop their emotional and social skills through difficult situations. So,instead of punishing them for not acting their age,we can use chances to teach and guide them to a place of learning.
A "time in"may take more time, but it does work.
( )28.During a "time out",a child is told to .
A.stay outside B.make a promise
C.sit alone and reflect D.return to school
( )29.In the writer's opinion,a "time out" .
A.is becoming more popular B.doesn't always work
C.should be parents' first choice D.takes too much time
( )30.When a child has done something wrong,the writer suggests that .
A.both teachers and parents discuss how to solve the problem
B.parents try something called "time in"instead of"time out"
C.the child say sorry to his or her parents and learn from mistakes
D.the child stay at home and reflect until he never makes mistakes
( )31.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage
A.Why not "Time in" B.Learn from Mistakes
C."Time out"or "Time in" D.No Violence at Home!
D
You may not realize it,but you are doing much more than juststudying when you are at school.School is also the place where you learn to get on well with people. But this is not always easy. What can you do if you just don't like one of your classmates
If you discover that you have problems getting on with your classmates or friends, the most important thing to learn is tolerance.Tolerance is the ability to realize and respect the differences in others. We can not change the way that other people do,so it is important to learn to live happily with them.
Tolerance will make everyone get on better with each other.Getting to know someone may help you understand why they do things differently.Something different does not exactly mean that it is bad. Tolerance teaches us to keep a temperate and open mind.
You need to remember an old saying,"Treat others how you want to be treated".If you tolerate something,it does not mean that you have to like it.No one is asking you to change who you are or what you believe in.Tolerance just means that you should respect the differences in others and not try to make them change.
It is important to practice tolerance, because it will make everyone's life easier.Learn to accept people for their different abilities and interests. The world is very different, and practicing tolerance in your own school and city can help make a difference.

Dear Li Cheng,
I’m sorry to hear that your parents refuse to let you talk with your friends on the phone.I understand how you feel. And I have some good advice for you.
Firstly, you should try to explain to them that your friends are important to you instead of arguing with your parents.
Secondly, you should tell your parents that you need a short break after busy study. It will not waste much time and it will not make any difference to your schoolwork,so they don't need to worry about it.
Finally, you should let them know that your friends are of the same age as you and you have the same problems and worries to discuss with them.
I'm sure that it will all work out and they will understand you.
Good luck!
Yours truly,
Jiang Ke
