7A U6 Visiting Shanghai
【教学目标】
一、认读和理解单词和短语:area, across, traditional, modern, sightseeing, building, in the centre of, light up, place of interest, travel guide等;
二、初步了解旅游指南的结构与介绍城市景点的方法,增加对生活的热爱和中国文化自信;
三、利用预测、扫读、跳读、精读等阅读技巧,完成阅读任务,帮助课文理解;
四、模仿课文的旅游指南介绍,小组讨论并尝试写一篇关于广州某个景点的旅游指南,比较上海和广州的旅游景点。

了解旅游指南的文本结构与内容
【教学难点】
仿照上海旅游指南的结构和介绍方法来写一篇广州旅游指南,并作对比。
【课前任务】
Let students search some information about some places of interest in Guangzhou and fill in the form.

【教学过程】
Step1:Leading-in
1. Predict some information on visiting Shanghai.
2. Present some places of interest and new words in a travel guide.
3. Help Students understand what a travel guide is and analyze the structure of a travel guide.
Step2: Reading
1. Pre-reading: Look at the photos, the title and the sub-headings of the article on P 73 and circle the correct answers.
2. While-reading:
(1) Match the people with the places they would like to visit in Shanghai.
(2) Read the article again and complete the tables. (choose suitable structures).
(3) Retell the article with a spidergram. (pair work)
3. Post-reading:
(1) Conclude the features of Shanghai’s places of interest, think about the similar places in Guangzhou by reading the material.
(2) Make a travel guide to one place of interest in Guangzhou according to the suitable structure. (pair work)

Step 4: Homework
1. Read the article fluently.
2. Make sentences with the new words and phrases.
3. Finish the travel guide on a piece of paper. You’d better draw some pictures or other information about the place of interest.
