I can’t wait to have another wonderful holiday of the Spring Festival.
As one of the most important festivals in China, the Spring Festival is an occasion for people to unit with their family members. It falls on the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar, usually lasting for 15 days until the Lantern Festival. I still remember the first time when I celebrated the Spring Festival with my big family, including my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Before the Spring Festival, we cleaned the house and decorated the room with paper cuttings as well as lanterns. We then went to the market, bought traditional food like dumplings, chicken and fish to prepare for the big meal. The red Spring Festival couplet was affixed to the door, which said blessing, indicating there would be a good sign in the coming year.
During the Spring Festival, my family members got together to enjoy a big meal, chatting with each other and watching the Spring Festival which was a feast for the eyes. We not only enjoyed popular songs performed by our favorite singers, but also burst into laughter by cross talks or comedy sketches. The first day of New year, I expressed my greetings to my relatives and then I received many red packets from them. I was so excited that I stayed up to welcome the new year.
Although feeling tired, I still felt extremely happy because the Festival made me realize how pleased I was when I spent time with my family. I couldn’t wait to have another wonderful holiday with my family.
