Warming up(3 mins)
1. Share a video clip of news, ask students to guess the job of person who is reporting the news, then introduce the job, journalist.
Purpose: To irritate students’ thinking about their future work and activate the atmosphere of the class.

2.1 Predicting: let students predict the content by looking at the title of the text and a picture.
Purpose: To train students' ability to predict the content and stimulate students' reading interest.
Then, guide them to pay attention to the word “unforgettable” in title and imagine what would make the first day at work so memorable.

Purpose: To improve students’ ability to analyze information and their recognition of journalists.
For example. In line 6, Huxin says “Wait till you’re more experienced”, so we can see that journalist needs to be experienced

3.5 Guessing meaning: guide students to guess the meaning of some expressions in context. Then, show them some sentences with missing part. They need to choose the expressions to fill in the blanks. (6 mins)
Purpose: To train students’ analytical skills, and improve their understanding of new expressions.
Cover a story: to report on an important event.
Get the wrong end of the stick: not to understand an idea.
If you believe lies, you will get the wrong end of the stick.
When reporters go to cover a story, they need to be curious.

4.2 Role play: work in group of 2, one act as employee who applies for the job of journalist while the other act as employer who need to see whether the employee is qualified for the job. They can use what we have learnt today to express. After finishing, exchange the role and do again. (7 mins)
Purpose: To apply what we have learned today, and improve their ability to communicate and cooperate.
