Lesson10 Exercise 说课稿
Good morning, ladies and gentleman. I’m glad to share my teaching design here.
Firstly, let’s focus on the analysis of teaching content.
Teaching Material
(PPT)
This lesson is from Learning English, Book6 unit 2 Lesson 10 Exercise. It’s a discourse teaching. In this lesson, Mr.Wood Danny and Jenny get together to talk about exercise. Because it is the fourth class in this Unit, before this lesson, the students have learned a lot about health. They have contacted with the key words. This is the context for this lesson.
Student analysis (PPT)
Secondly, it is about the students. Our students are in Grade 6, they are active and curious, interested in new things. After learning English for three more years, they have already known about their favourite colours, food and clothes, they have learnt verb phrase. It is not difficult for them to understand and use the language, the teacher should provide them more chances of using language.
So, I set the following aims.
Teaching aims
一、 The first one is knowledge aims
.
1. Students will be able to aurally understand, orally use, recognize and spell the following vocabulary: exercise, minute, hour
二、Students will be able to recognize understand and use these questions: How many minutes does Danny exercise How many minutes do you…
The second one is ability aims
1. Learn about the typical activities for exercise.
2. Train the Ss’ ability of active thinking and communication.
3. The third one is moral aims
. Students should understand and be able to tell you why exercise is important all during one’s life.
Teaching methods
In order to achieve the teaching aims, I adopt student-centered teaching method, situational method and communicative method.
Leaning strategies:
In this lesson, leaning strategies is to actively use English to communicate with others in and out of class. To establish relations among relevant knowledge by way of observation.
Key points
Key points include two points.
Students will be able to recognize understand and use these questions: How many minutes does Danny exercise How many minutes do you…
The second one is to express various forms of exercise what they can do.
Difficulty
The difficulty is: be able to talk about various forms of exercise using English words and expressions.
Teaching aids
Then teaching aids, I’ll use recordings, pictures and a computer to teach in the lesson.
Teaching procedure
The important part in my speaking is teaching procedure. I divide the teaching procedure into five steps.
Step1.warming up
With the greeting, the students will feel the beginning of the lesson. It’s important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss. At the beginning we say hello with each other and talk about some the phrase about exercise in English. Then we will play a game. This game will help the students review the verb phrase.
Step II Presentation.
The second step is presentation.
I design two activities in this part. Part1 Demonstrate “exercise” with the pictures of Part1 and pay attention the pronunciation.
Make the students to do exercises to help some students understand exercise. Use lantern slide and computer and tell the students “Exercise helps make your body healthy and strong”.
The second activities is Listen to the type and think about “What else is exercise ”.According to this question I’ll give the students some pictures to choose “what is exercise What is not exercise ”. Choose the right pictures to the blanks.After learning, I’ll ask “What do you do for exercise ”I’ll answer it for model then students ask and answer in pairs. This part I think it is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the students by making dialogues
The second step is important. We must show them in real language situation.
Step III While-reading
There are three activities in part2. “How many minutes does Danny exercise ”and new words “minutes,hours”
The first I’ll give them a chart. Read the questions and according to three questions learn new words “minute ,hour”. Make the students understand “minute”with a clock. “one minute,sixty minutes”,sixty minutes is an hour. I’ll make some pictures with the new words to understand it.
The second I’ll show a video that answer three questions step by step. They can find the answers from the video and fill in the chart in groups. After answering I’ll ask “what is Danny going to do ”. They can read the text by themselves and answer it. He is going to watch more sports on TV. We’ll discuss “Is is exercise Is he right ”. Tell students “ watching more times on TV is bad for their eyes.”
The last they follow the type and read the text. It can provide a read situation for the students to understand the words. And know the questions clearly.
Step IV Post-reading
Make the students finish the survey in groups and talk about by themselves.
I’ll show a composition about exercise according to the form and finish part3. Task based teaching method is used here to develop students’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be trained.
In older to perceive and practice the new knowledge. I design the practice in two levels. The first one is a survey in their groups. I give them a model .The Ss can do it like the model. This is meaningful practice.
By the meaningful practice, the students’ ability of active thinking and communication will be trained.
Next we will go back to the text. To help the students consolidate the new teaching. Let the students read the text and write a short passage of Part3.
