当trouble意为“困难;麻烦”时,是不可数名词。
如:I’m sorry to give you so much trouble.
be in trouble意为“有困难;陷入困境”。
如:He always asks me for help when he
is in trouble.
(2) get sb. into trouble 意为“使某人陷入困境”。
如:If you come, you may get me into
trouble.
(3) 主语 + have / has trouble (in) doing sth.
意为“某人在做某事方面有困难”。
如:I have some trouble (in) reading the letter.
当trouble意为“麻烦事;烦心事”时,是可数名词。
如:She was on the phone for an hour
telling me her troubles.
4.bandage在此是动词,意为“用绷带包扎”。
如:
Do you know how to bandage an injured arm

bandage还可以做名词,意为“绷带”。如:The nurse eased away the bandage
from the wound.

5. cut ourselves 割伤我们自己
(1)cut是动词,意为“切割;割伤;剪开;
截断;削减”。
常用词组有:cut up 切碎;切成小块
cut down 砍倒 cut off 切除。
如:Please don't cut yourself.
请不要割伤你自己。

(2)ourself是反身代词,意为“我们自己”。反身代词的构成是在物主代词(my,her,our,your)及人称代词宾格(it,him,themself(单数)或selves(复数)。反身代词不能用作主语。
如:Mr Shute bought himself many good things. 舒特先生给自己买了很多好东西。
有关反身代词的一些词组记忆:
for oneself 为自己 by oneself 独自;单独地 say to oneself 心里暗想
think to oneself 自言自语 teach oneself 自学

(1)be used to意为“习惯于......;适应于......”,后常接动名词、代词或现在分词。
be used to doing 表示“习惯于做某事”
be used to do表示“……被用来做某事”
如:I am used to eating rice now.
我现在习惯吃米饭。
The knife can be used to cut meat.
刀能用来切肉。
(2)take risks是动词词组,意为“冒险”,
其同义词组是take a risk。
如:We do not expect untrained people to
take risks.我们不主张未受过培训的人员
去冒险。
You can't get rich without taking risks.
人不冒险不富。
I have to take a risk in my job.
做我这种工作要冒风险。
6. There were many times when Aron almost
lost his life because of accidents.
有很多次阿伦因为事故几乎失去了他自己的生命。
(1)almost是副词,意为“几乎,差不多”。用来
修饰不定代词、形容词、副词、动词、介词
短语等。
如:The girl is almost eight years old.
这女孩将近八岁了。
He is almost two metres tall.
他差不多有两米高。

almost 意为“几乎,差不多”可用于 any 以及 no, none, nobody, nothing, never 等否定词之前;有时 almost 可表示十分相似(但又不完全相同)。
Almost no one came to the party.
I almost wish I’d stayed at home.
nearly 意为“几乎,差不多”,前可用 very, pretty, not 等词修饰,not nearly 意为“远非”, very (pretty) nearly 意为“几乎”,都是习语。
He nearly always arrives late.
It’s not nearly so difficult as you think.
2)because of 是介词短语,意为“因为;由于”,
后常接名词、代词或V-ing形式。
如:The train was late because of the bad weather.
由于天气恶劣,火车晚点了。
She didn't go to the party because of
a sore throat.
由于嗓子痛她没有去参加聚会。
7. So he used his knife to cut off half his right arm.
所以他用刀切除了右臂一半。
(1)knife是可数名词,意为“刀”,其复数形式
是knives。
如:I picked up the knife and threw it out of
the window.

(2) cut off 是动词短语,意为“切除”。
如:Please help me to cut off the rinds
of lemons.

如:The doctors had given her up but she made a remarkable recovery.
医生们已放弃了治愈她的希望,而她却恢复得很好。
You ought to give up smoking; I gave it up last year.你应该戒烟,我去年就戒掉了。
