What was the event What was the reason why you were late or couldn't go Help students with the following expressions: Last Monday/ Sunday/week/ month/...I was late for/couldn't go to...because.. 2. Share the story.
Presentation Step 3 Let's predict 1. Read the questions in 1b. 2. Guess what the conversation is about Step 4 Let's listen (1b&1c) 1. Listen and write short answers to the questions 2. Ask students why Kate missed the basketball competition and what happened. 3. Read the sentences in 1c and guess the correct order of the events. 4. Listen and number the events. Check answers. 5. Listen again and answer more questions to further understand the story. 6. Listen and repeat. 7. Fill in the blanks in the passage and try to retell the story.
