Unit 2 Wonderful holidays Lesson 13 Father’s Day
一、教材分析:
本节课是清华课标版一年级起点六年级下册第二单元阅读教学之篇Father’s Day,前一篇是Mother’s Day。本课第一部分主要是介绍父亲节的时间和感恩父爱的方式,第二部分是讲述Kitty在父亲节感恩父爱的小故事,并学习谚语:Like father, like son.(有其父,必有其子)。
二、教学目标:
1.了解Father’s Day 时间是每年六月的第三个星期日;
2.推断今年父亲节的具体日期;
3.培养学生阅读理解能力和阅读技巧,如略读、扫读、查找关键信息和细节。
4.教育学生要懂得感恩,学会如何感恩。
三、教学重难点:
1.教学重点:阅读并理解有关父亲节的短文介绍和故事
2.教学难点:生词tie、bar、bumper
四、课前准备:课件、8份调查表、学生教材。
五、教学过程:
Step 1 Warm-up / Review
1.Greetings.
2.Review some phrases such as bought some flowers, did things at home, helped cook dinner, helped wash the dishes, helped wash clothes and so on. 【设计意图:复习相关动词词组,降低学习难度,为接下来的读前活动做好铺垫。】
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask : When is Mother’s Day When is Mother’s Day this year What can we do to show love to our mother What did you do for your mother on Mother’s Day this year
Step 3 While-reading
1.Paragraph 1:
1) Ask Ss to read Paragraph 1 and answer: When is Father’s Day ,Then check the answer.
2) Ask Ss to look at the two pictures in Paragraph 1and answer: What can you see in the pictures
【设计意图:培养学生读图能力,学会结合图片提取先关信息,同时为学生回答下一个问题做好准备。】
3) Ask Ss to look at the calendar and answer: When is Father’s Day this year
2.Paragraphs 2 -3
1) Ask Ss to read Paragraphs 2 -3 and answer: What can we do to show
love to our fathers Then check the answer and present the new word :tie. 3、 A story about Kitty and his father
1) Ask Ss to look at the pictures and ask: What can you see Where are they
【设计意图:培养学生读图能力,同时在有限的教学时间里练习学生口语能力。】
2) Ask Ss to find the English names for the two things from the story quickly.
【设计意图:培养学生快速阅读寻找关键信息的能力,同时在情境中教学生词:bar, bumper。】
3) Ask Ss to read the whole story and write a name for the story. Then check the answer and write the different names down on the Bd. Ask Ss to choose the one he/she likes best.
【设计意图:为故事取个名字,目标是培养学生综合理解概括能力,允许学生选择自己最喜欢的名字,旨在培养学生发散思维能力。】
4)Ask Ss to read the story for the third time and answer the question: What did Kitty and her father do in the Children’s Park
【设计意图:先让学生画出句子,旨在培养学生提取信息的能力,然后转述人称,写下答案,目的是培养他们的语言表达能力。】
5) Discuss: Why did Kitty ask her father to do these things

一步分享故事做铺垫。】
6) Share a story about you and your father.
【设计意图:自然过渡到读后活动:讨论今年父亲节打算如何感恩。】 Step 4 Post-reading 1. Group work:
Discuss : What will you do for your father on Father’s Day this year
【设计意图:教师先做示范,然后小组讨论,最后请几组上前汇报小组成员的计划和打算。】
Learn the proverb: Like father, like son.(有其父,必有其子。)
Homework:
1.Copy the proverb: Like father, like son.
2.Do something for your father on Father’s Day this year.
3.Don’t forget to say “Thank you, Father! Happy Father’s Day!” to your father on that day.

六、教学反思
优点:
1.教学目标达成,教学重点突出,突破教学难点;
2.整节课以学生为主体,教师是引导者、观察员;
3.允许学生回答问题时语法上的错误,教师用正确的语言引导学生说出语法正确的句子,最大限度上保护了学生学习英语的积极性。
不足之处及改进措施:
不足之处:读中环节,请学生口头回答完问题:What did Kitty and her father do in the Children’s Park 后,让学生写下答案,只喊了一个学生读一读答案,没有多请几个学生读。 改进措施:请3-5人回答,给学生多一些展示机会,同时检查正确率。
