Presentation Step 2 Introduction of Background Information
Introduce the Four Great Classical Novels. Journey to the West is a Chinese novel
published in the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty and attributed to Wu
Cheng'en. It is one of the Four Great Classical Novels(四大名著)of Chinese
literature. Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is a main character in
the Chinese classical novel Journey to the West.
After that try to introduce the main characters as well as the beautiful scenery in
Journey to the West to arouse students' interest.
Step 3 Skimming
Skim the passage and match the main idea with each paragraph.
Step4 Reading
Task 1 Read para. 1 and answer the questions:
1. What happened in November 1979
2. Who is the main character
Task 2 Read para. 2 and finish 3b
Task 3 Read para. 2 again and finish the mind map.
Task 4. Read para. 3 and finish the mind map.
Step 6 Thinking
Retell the passage according to the mind map.
作业 Homework
1. Memorize the words and sentences in the period.
2.Read the passage more and retell it.
