Many people think you’re either a creative person or you’re not. While I agree that some people may be slightly more creative than others, I think creativity is a muscle that can be exercised and improved upon. ___1___
1. Consume content outside your comfort zone.
We all love reading about stuff in our industry. ___2___ . If you want to get your creative juices flowing, start consuming content you wouldn’t normally consume. Read blogs outside of your industry. Read books outside of your normal choice. Or grab lunch with a complete stranger.
2. Do the “No Bad Ideas Brainstorming” exercise.
Get at least one other person to join you for a 45-60 minute brainstorm. No technology and no criticism. Bring a topic or idea to the table and write down all your ideas(on actual paper). ___3___ . It’s important to do this in person and to make absolutely sure you don’t have any negative energy or feedback throughout the process. You may end up with 100 horrible ideas, but I bet you’ll have one or two good ones.
3. ___4___ .
There are studies upon studies that discuss how our diet affects the way we think. Want to start thinking differently Start giving your body different(and healthier) fuel. You’d be shocked how much more creatively you can think and act when you eat a healthier diet.
4. See a movie in a theater.
Movies on the big scene are one of the last few places you can enjoy a complete sensory experience. The giant bright screen. The thundering surround sound. The smell and taste of fresh popcorn. The somewhat uncomfortable seat with plastic armrests that don’t move. ___5___ .
A.It may help with motivation

Navigation(导航)skills seem to come naturally to some-but others aren’t so lucky. If you are lacking in a sense of direction, especially sick of taking wrong turns, here’s how to start finding your way.
To begin with, I have to be frank that I had an interest in researching this topic because my own sense of direction is absolutely rubbish. ____6____ I can find my way there easily enough because there are signs pointing me in the right direction. But getting back to my dining table is another story. After all, there are no helpful signs saying, “This is where you were sitting less than five minutes ago, Jane.”
However,a good news is that according to scientists the hippocampus(海马体)-the part of the brain associated with navigation-expands to accommodate the mental maps of those who are puzzled with directions. ____7____ They just need to work at it.
Firstly, it’s a good idea to put the GPS away. In a University of Nottingham study, drivers who’d followed step-by-step GPS instructions found it harder to work out where they’d been. ____8____
____9____ Not least it is because the amount of mental energy it re-quires means it’s more likely to stick in your mind. Looking at online maps on a big screen-or even studying a paper map-also allows you to get a sense of that all-important bigger picture and how everywhere fits together.
Finally, try to relax when you’re on unfamiliar ground. ____10____ But this sudden burst of anxiety will only increase your pressure and prevent you from calmly working out which way to go.
A.I always get lost when I am out.
B.Yes,they can improve the sense of direction.
C.Take popping to the toilet in a restaurant, for example.
D.They even failed to notice they’d been past the same place.

F.It’s all too easy to get panicked by the suspicion of getting lost.
G.Studying a larger map and memorizing the route in advance can be helpful.
Expressive writing or journaling is one way to help you heal from trauma (创伤).___11___. It can help you process what you’ve been through and assist you as you envision a path forward.
Why does a writing intervention work ___12___In fact, narrating the story of an ongoing anxiety “frees up” cognitive resources. When you write down the emotions associated with a traumatic experience, you may be changing the way it is organized in the brain. You are then able to detach from the emotion, making it easier for you to talk about and process the event.
However, for most people, the thought of acknowledging emotions and admitting that there’s something wrong with us is difficult. This is because expressing emotions can bring up feelings of guilt and shame.___13___That is what sets journaling apart. This is between you and your journal — you don’t have to share it with anyone unless, of course, you choose to.
If you’re interested in trying out writing as a tool for healing, start your writing by setting a timer for ten minutes.___14___Think of one object in your home that signifies a moment for you. See it in full color. Feel the weight of it. Use all your senses. Now, write about that object and see how large its meaning can become.
___15___How you heal from trauma can be different from person to person as well. It all depends on what works best for you. Remember, one size does not fit all. Writing may not work for everyone, but you won’t know if you don’t try.
A.Despite that, expressive writing remains an accessible tool.
B.Of course, expressive writing is hardly a panacea (灵丹妙药).
C.Also, seeking help for emotional stress is often seen as a sign of weakness.
D.It may seem abnormal that writing about negative experiences has a positive effect.
E.Once you have a better handle on your problems, you can move forward and get on with life.
F.It is writing from your heart and mind and about the emotion associated with a certain event.
G.Let your mind go to the detailed, specific moments to get to the feelings and truth of your experience.
Anyone who has an idea worth sharing is capable of giving a powerful talk. The only thing that truly matters in public speaking is not confidence, stage presence, or smooth talking.___16___
I am using the word “idea” quite broadly here. It doesn’t have to be a scientific breakthrough, a genius invention, or a complex legal theory. ___17___Or a human insight illustrated with the power of a story. Or a beautiful image that has meaning. Or an event you wish might happen in the future. Or perhaps just a reminder of what matters most in life.
An idea is anything that can change how people see the world. If you can create a great idea in people’s minds, you have done something amazing. You have given them a gift of incalculable value.___18___
But, more likely, you have far more in you worth sharing than you’re even aware of. You don’t have to have invented something. You’ve led a life that is yours and yours only.___19___There are insights to be drawn from some of those experiences that are absolutely worth sharing. You just have to figure out which ones.
___20___You’ve invented nothing. You’re not particularly creative. You don’t see yourself as super-intelligent. You don’t have any particularly brilliant ideas about the future. You’re not even sure there’s anything you’re super-passionate about.
Well, I grant you, that’s a tough starting point. To be worth an audience’s time, most talks require grounding in something that has some depth. It’s theoretically possible that the best thing you can do for now is to continue your journey, and search for something that really does grab you and make you want to go deep.

And talk about your struggles, happiness and guilty pleasures. Think about how good it feels to tell a friend you secretly like a boring TV show and hear them say “Me too!”. We feel a deeper connection to our friends when our weakness is met with support.____24____
Talk about your disagreements. It’s hard to deal with conflict in friendships ____25____ It might be painful at first, but it shows you want to be sincere with them—and that you want to make your relationship better. They also reported being happier than those who reported at least one. ___29___ They also reported having received or given less help to others and that they had spent more time watching TV.

If you are of the “no regrets” school of life, you might think that all this regret is a recipe for unhappiness. But that isn’t the case. True, letting yourself be overwhelmed by regret is indeed bad for you. But going to the other extreme may be even worse. To extinguish your regrets doesn’t free you from shame or sorrow; it consigns you to make the same mistakes again and again. To truly get over our guilt requires that we put regret in its proper place.
As uncomfortable as it is, regret is an amazing cognitive feat. It requires that you go back to a past scenario, imagine that you acted differently to change it, and with that new scenario in mind, arrive at a different present—and then, compare that fictional present with the one you are experiencing in reality._____41_____You would remember your own pettiness and irritability, and then imagine yourself showing more patience, being kind instead of hurtful at key moments. Then you would fast-forward to today and see how your relationship could be flourishing instead of languishing.
_____42_____Pink says they come in four basic varieties, and an instance of regret may involve just one or a combination. Wishing you’d been kinder to your partner is an example of a connection regret, in which you lament behavior that harmed an important relationship, such as spoiling a romance or neglecting your bond with relatives before they died.
Many connection regrets overlap with moral regrets, which can come about after you violate your own values. For example, you may pride yourself on being a loving person, and thus regret not living up to this image in the relationship you harmed. Moral regrets can also involve just yourself._____43_____
Pink’s other two categories of regrets involve life choices. Foundation regrets are those in which you did something that affected the course of your life in a way you don’t like. A classic example is wishing you had stayed in school_____44_____. They are all about inaction and forgone opportunities. This is what you feel when you kick yourself for not taking a chance, as in wishing you had just gone up to that attractive person and introduced yourself.
_____45_____Regret is implicated in depression and anxiety, and excessive regret can adversely affect your hormones and immune system. In 2013, researchers asked one group of participants in an experiment to describe “your most burdensome regret” right before going to bed; this group took 61 percent longer to get to sleep than a group told to think about a typical day.
But regret doesn’t have to be left unmanaged. The trick is not to remove the bad feeling; it’s to acknowledge it and use it for learning and improvement. Instead of letting the specter of your failed relationship make you miserable, by simply wishing it had tuned out differently you can be honest with yourself about what went wrong and use that knowledge to enjoy better relationships in the future.
A.Not all regrets are the same of course.
B.Meanwhile, boldness regrets are the opposite.
C.Regret may hurt, but obsessing over them is destructive.
D.Your regret can teach you to become smarter and more successful—if you let it.
E.Unanalyzed and unmanaged, any variety of regret can be poison for your well-being.
F.Maybe you regret not living up to your commitment to your health when you ate a whole pizza or skipped the gym.
G.For example, if today your relationship with your partner has soured, your regret might mentally take you back to last year.

Let’s pause for a moment. I don’t want you to bleed with me or to pity me. But I also don’t want to cover my reality. I continued writing, having no idea where it would lead. I didn’t know I would publish it but, after much resistance on my part I finally made the decision to publish the book under my own name. No pen name. No hiding on the deep bowels of the Internet.
And so here we are. ____49____ Sure, readers will enjoy the twists and turns. And I can see myself in the character. ____50____ I wrote it to help people. To give them a place to belong to. A place to talk about this fictional world. The very same thing that saved me last year.

Find a way to deal with your emotions.
I got a guitar during my sophomore (大学二年级) year of university because that’s what I like doing when I’m by myself. I keep a journal because it makes me feel better and productive if I need time by myself but I don’t want to feel lonely.
An outlet(发泄方式) for your emotions can take any shape or form. Whatever it is, it’s important that you find a way to deal with your emotions. Don’t avoid them, but try to understand them. ____89____ If you focus too much on the negatives, you might forget to see the positives.
Talk to someone.
There is nothing wrong with finding someone to talk to about how you’re feeling. ____90____ Or it may mean talking to a counselor(顾问) if that’s what you think you need.

Quiet Quitting
While not a new concept, the term “quiet quitting” has recently gained popularity on social media.
What is quiet quitting
Quiet quitting doesn’t mean an employee has left their job, but rather has limited their tasks to avoid working longer hours. _____91_____ They stick to what is in their job description and when they go home, they leave work behind them and focus on non-work duties and activities.
_____92_____ It may also mean they are ready to change positions or may be currently looking for another job.
_____93_____
Quiet quitting may be a popular term, but this practice isn’t new. Workers have quietly quit their jobs for years to look for something new, whether it was because of poor pay, unmanageable workload, burnout or lack of growth opportunities.
Working from home has also changed the dynamics of the workplace because employees and managers are communicating in different ways through online meetings. These interactions may feel more formal than the chat sessions that happen in an office. Limited meetings can cause a disconnect between employees and management. _____94_____
How can businesses help employees
The biggest way to prevent disengagement is to improve the employees’ experience. Talk to employees, gather their feedback and discuss what can be done to make them feel appreciated. Make sure workloads are realistic and that there are appropriate boundaries to maintain a work-life balance.
Further, managers should clearly outline paths of career progression to each employee._____95_____ A recent report revealed that more than half of employees surveyed would accept 10% less pay in exchange for a “more interesting career path or more opportunities to learn new skills”.
A.Why are employees quietly quitting
B.Why is quiet quitting beneficial to mental health
C.They set clear boundaries to improve work-life balance.
D.Employees are more likely to be engaged when they have specific targets.
E.However, quiet quitting could be a sign that an employee is not happy in their position.
F.Regular support and praise that make employees feel valued and connected can get lost.
G.Managers must learn how to have conversations to help employees reduce disengagement and burnout.
Public speaking is rated as the number one fear by over 40 percent of people in the world. Calm your nerves and capture the attention of your audience by following these effective tips.
·Acquire speaking experience
We always fear the unknown. ____96____ . If at first it seems like a necessary way to communicate with groups of people, eventually it will feel like the natural way to do so. If you don’t speak regularly at work, consider Toastmiasters, or form a speaking club at your company.
·Prepare! Prepare! Prepare!
There is absolutely nothing like feeling prepared to give you confidence ahead of a presentation. When it comes time to rehearse (排练), go through your talk enough times that your main points come to you readily, but not so many times that you become mechanical (机械的). ____97____.
·____98____
Listen, you’re far and away the person best equipped to beat up on yourself. But why do that
Spend your preparation and “pondering” time prior to a presentation thinking positively. That way, you’ll help yourself create that self-fulfilling prophecy (预言) of success.
·Remember that most nervousness is not visible
If there’s any activity that is separated into a “subjective” versus “objective” experience, it’s public speaking. Yes, you are inside the nervous speaker and privy (秘密的) to everything that’s going on in there. But your audience isn’t. ____99____ . Another reason they’re not focused on your nervousness is because they probably don’t see it!
·Be at your best physically and mentally
In the turmoil (混乱) of nervousness before a speech, this aspect of best performance can get lost in the noise. Get enough rest. ____100____. In other words, be your own best friend.
A.Think positively
B.Don’t be afraid of making mistakes
C.And give yourself quiet time if you need it
D.People want to know more about public speaking
E.They are simply interested in what you have to say to them

45.下文“Regret is implicated in depression and anxiety, and excessive regret can adversely affect your hormones and immune system.(遗憾与抑郁和焦虑有关,过度遗憾会对你的激素和免疫系统产生不利影响)”说明过度遗憾会影响身体健康,E项“未经分析和管理,任何形式的遗憾都可能对你的健康有害。”说明未经分析和管理的遗憾可能对健康有害,引出下文,符合题意。故选E。

【导语】这是一篇记叙文。本文讲述了作者通过写作治愈了自己的抑郁症的故事。
46.根据上文“Last year, I fell into a deep depression. It was caused by a car accident. I was in physical recovery from the accident and suddenly all of my old hurts started coming up. I found myself crying on the floor of my apartment.(去年,我陷入了深深的抑郁。它是由一场车祸造成的。我的身体正在从事故中恢复,突然我所有的旧伤开始出现。我发现自己在公寓的地板上哭了)”可知,作者因抑郁症,新伤旧伤并发,躺在公寓的地板上哭泣,此时的感受是绝望的。故B选项“我没有看到出路”符合语境。故选B。
47.根据上文“Let’s pause for a moment. I don’t want you to bleed with me or to pity me. But I also don’t want to cover my reality. And the truth is, beneath the shiny photos you see on the Internet, I’m still a work in progress.(让我们暂停一下。我不想让你和我一起流血或同情我。但我也不想掩盖我的现实。事实上,在你在互联网上看到的那些闪亮的照片下面,我还在努力)”以及后文“Like all of us, I’m doing the best I can and making the best choices I can. Back to the evening when I found myself lying on the floor.(就像我们所有人一样,我在尽我所能,做出最好的选择。回到那天晚上,我发现自己躺在地板上)”可知,第二段讲述了作者直面真实的自己,上文提到作者在背后仍然在努力,即并不像照片那样完美。故A选项“我并不完美”符合语境。故选A。
48.根据上文“There was a TV show I absolutely loved. I started writing fan fiction. It provided a beautiful place of escape from the thoughts swimming in my head.(有一个电视节目我非常喜欢。我开始写同人小说。它为我提供了一个美丽的地方,让我可以逃离脑海中游弋的思绪)”可知作者开始写fan fiction(同人小说),这给作者提供了思想的去处,所以作者的抑郁症开始烟消云散了。故C选项“抑郁症开始好转”符合语境。故选C。
49.根据上文“And so here we are.(所以我们就在这里)”以及后文“Sure, readers will enjoy the twists and turns.(当然,读者会喜欢其中的曲折)”可知,“here we are”说明作文将思路从回忆中拉回现实,来到了新书发布的时刻。根据下文可知,读者会喜欢书中故事的千回百转,说明此题肯定会提到书。故E选项
