Talk about Journey to the West and the Monkey King.
Step2: Warming-up.
Before class, look at some pictures and ask students:
Do you know the title of the story What is it
Students: The Emperor’s New Clothes.
Presentation Step3: Presentation.
1.Enjoy a video. (The Emperor’s New Clothes.)
After watching the video, Ask students a question:Is it a traditional Chinese story
(No, it isn’t. It’s from Europe.)
2.Present the new words and learn the new words, then finish 1a.
Step4: Listening.
1. Before-listening.
Task1. Read and try to remember the new words.
Task2. Ask students :
How many main characters(主要的人物) are there in the story Who are they
Task3. Underline the phrases in 1c and then read aloud.
Task4. Number the pictures [1-5] in 1c by yourself. Try to guess the numbers.
2. While –listening.
Task1.Listen and check your answers.
Task2.Listen again and fill in the blanks.
3. After–listening
Talk about the main characters in this story and something they did.
Questions:

Step5. Exercise.
1.Use the pictures in 1c to tell the story.
Ask the students to think about how to tell a story, then show them the key words: once upon a time, when, because…

Retell the story according to the pictures and the key words. They can discuss with their partner.
