Talk about the weather conditions in different cities in the target language, an
d try to make a simple weather report.
3.Emotional Objectives:
Pay attention to daily weather and care about our family.
Learn and master some words to describe the weather.

Let Ss Talk about the weather conditions in different cities in the target language,
and try to make a simple weather report.

Lead in Step 1 Lead in
1) Watch a video about the weather description in Chicago news and Ss are required to write down three words about weather.
2) Then choose three of them to speak out their three words.
Presentation Step2: Presentation 1) Through the pictures about the signs of weather, Ss are required to answer
2) Then they should answer "How's the weather " (e.g. It's sunny, windy,cloudy, rainy, snowy./It's raining, snowing).
Step3: Practice
Write down the adjectives of these nouns about weather( rain, wind, cloud,
(Smin)
sun, snow)
2) Play the spin game. (How's the weather ---It's...)
1) Show a map which shows the locations of the five cities we are going to
learn. (Toronto, Boston, Moscow, Beijing, Shanghai.)
2) Then show the pictures of the famous places and ask Ss " Do you know the
names of the cities "
Step3: Pre-listening
Step4:While-listening
Make sure Ss have mastered the pronunciations of these cities and known which country it is belong to.
1) The first time, listen and finish la (Match the words with the pictures.)
2) The second time, listen and finish 1b (listen and write these city names in
the boxes above.
3) The third time, listen and fill in the blanks of four scripts segments.
Step5:post-listening
1) After finishing the listening scripts, teacher point out the important points
of these scripts (down, as usual)
2) Read the listening scripts together.
Step6: Role-play
Imagine you are going to travel in these cities, and you ask your local friends a
bout the weather there.
1)Watch a video about the world weather report.
2) Being a weather reporter to report the weather in different cities.
(1. Hello, everyone! Here is the weather report! 2. Look at Beijing, It's... to
day. It's.….in Shanghai. It's.…in Toronto and It's……in Boston. How about
Moscow, It's...there. 3. That's all for today, see you tomorrow!)
作业 Homework:
1) Oral homework: Make a weather reports to your friends or family members
in English.
2) Finish the exercise of this lesson.
