Lead in Step1 Greeting and lead-in
1. Greeting: Long time no see.
Most of you went on vacation, Now let's talk about your vacations
2. Ss say something about their activities during summer holidays.
Presentation Step2 Presentation
1. Ask four students the following questions:
Did you go anywhere interesting
What did you do
Where did you go on vacation
Did you go with anyone
Did you do anything interesting
Do a report.
What did you do on vacation
How was the vacation
2. The four students answer the questions. Other students listen carefully and learn
the questions.
Step3 A Guessing Game
1. I also went somewhere interesting. Can you guess Show Ss some pictures of
different places.
Teach: New York City, Central Park.
Pair work. Ask your friend's summer vacation
2. Ss guess the place where I went. They should guess using
" Did you go to visit ..."
Step 4 An interview
1. Get Ss to make an interview about my vacation and answer students' questions.
Ask: How was your vacation ( teach "wonderful")
2. Ss watch a video. Try to ask the teacher as many questions as they can.
Step 5 Pair work
1. Ask: Do you want to know more about your partner's vacation
Now let's ask and answer questions in Pairs. Try to use the questions you have learned.
2. Choose some of them to act out using
" Where did shelhe go on vacation Did
she/he ... How was ..."
Step 6 Work on 1a and 1b
1. Say: We had vacations and so did the students in Section A 1a.
Ask: Where did they go on vacation .
Who went to the mountains stayed at home
2. Ss listen and finish 1a, 1b.
Step 7 Pair work
1. You know where the people went, now let's make conversations about their vacation.
2. Ss make conversations about the people in the picture. They should use at least
two questions like " Did... " Where..."
Step 8 Listening
1. We know where Tina, Xiang Hua, Sally, Bob and Tom went on vacation. How
about Grace. Kevin, Julie
2. Ss listen and finish 2a.
3. Ss listen again and finish 2b.
Step 9. Role-play conversations
1. Read the conversations in 2a and 2b then role play the conversations. Get Ss to use
at least five questions about each vacation like this:Grace went to ..., she went
with ...She...
Ss read the conversations and some of them role play according to the
information in 2a and 2b. Step 9 Pairwork
