Auld Lang Syne ----- "old long since" / 'for old times' sake'“逝去已久的日子”
is an old Scottish poem.It tells about the need to remember old friends.
No one knows who wrote the poem first.However, a version by Scottish poet Robert Burns was published in 1796.The words and music we know today first appeared in a songbook three years later.
Like his father, Burns was a farmer. However, toward the end of his life he became an excise collector in Dumfries, where he died in 1796; throughout his life he was also a practicing poet. His poetry recorded and celebrated aspects of farm life, regional experience, traditional culture, class culture and distinctions, and religious practice. He is considered the national poet of Scotland.
