表示向对方提出请求、指示、命令、劝告或征求对方意见等。祈使句的结构与陈述句一样，祈使句的主语通常为第二人称you, 但主语常被省略，所以祈使句又叫“无主句”。祈使句一般没有时态的变化。谓语动词用动词原形。主要分为以下几种类型:
肯定：V型: Sit down, please. 请坐。P型: Please sit down.请坐。L型: Let's go home. 我们回家吧。B型: Be quiet. 安静点否定：D型: Don't park here. 不要把车停在这里。N型: No smoking. 严禁吸烟。 No camera. 禁止拍照。
