单元教学内容 To introduce the vocabulary (actions at the beach) and key structures (What do/don’t you like doing, children I (don’t) like collecting shells.) by making use of a context. To reinforce the vocabulary and key structures with a story. To make observations / predictions about a text. To develop pupils’ reading skills. To relate a text to self. Identify key words from the main idea in a sentence. Use simple sentences to communicate with others with the help of cues. Identify and discriminate between a small range of basic consonant sounds Participate actively and work with others to complete a task, respecting their rights.
单元学情分析 This chapter is about actions at the beach: collect shells, listen to the waves, swallow salty water, smell and eat food on a barbecue, touch the warm sand, walk on the sand. They are difficult for them to remember. They can ask and answer What questions about things people like and do not like doing at the beach.
单元学习目标 1. Use interrogative pronouns to find out specific information about a person. 2. Use prepositions to indicate places. 3. Use the simple present tense to express interests. 4. Use gerunds to refer to activities 5. Use connectives to add information. 6. Use adjectives to describe objects. 7. Use nouns to identify objects. 8. Use personal pronouns as objects to identify objects.

课时学习目标 1. Students should be able to understand the characteristics of a shape poem. 2. Students should be able to establish the interest of reading a shape poem and write a shape poem . 3. Students should be able to master the usage of the key phrases. 4. Students should be able to read and spell the words with ‘all’ and ‘ell’ as well as telling the differences of ‘ell’ and ‘all’.
重点及解决 Illustrate the characteristics of a shape poem. Use different ways to motive students’ interest in reading and writing a shape poem.

2. Present 1.Conclude the characteristics of the poem. 2. Listen to the shape poem carefully and underline the sentence that you like best and then share your favourite sentences. 3. Take turns to read this poem together with full emotion. 4. Distinguish these two sounds by looking at the teacher’s mouth shape when saying these two sounds. 2.1 Present the pictures of shape poems. Show students more pictures of shape poems and lead them to conclude the characteristics of the poem. 2.2 Listen and make notes. Ask students to listen to the shape poem carefully and underline the sentence that they like best. Then, ask several students to share their favourite sentences. 2.3 Read. Ask boys and girls to take turns to read this poem together with full emotion. 2.4 Illustrate this poem. Ask students to guess what shape this poem is. Then, illustrate the words and phrases. 2.5 Teach phonics Teacher writes some words containing ‘ell’ and ‘all’ on the blackboard. Ask students to guess their sounds. Then, ask students to name more words containing these two sounds. Ask students to distinguish these two sounds by looking at the teacher’s mouth shape when saying these two sounds. Help students understand the poem. 15
Practice Read the poem with full emotion. You should create some gestures for each sentence. Poem reading competition Teacher asks students to read the poem with full emotion. They should create some gestures for each sentence. Invite one student from each team to come to the front and read the poem. Tell, vote for the best speaker.
