I．语言点精讲
1. Who else is on my island
else是形容词，意为“另外的；其它的”，修饰疑问词或不定代词时，放在所修饰词之后，也可后加's 构成所有格。
e.g.1)Is there anything else 有别的东西吗？
2)This book must be somebody else's. 这本书一定是别人的。
else adv.另外,否则。常与or连用，意为“否则；要不然”。
如：You must pay 100 yuan or else go outside.你必须付100元，否则就得出去。
【易混辨析】else 与 other
else副词, 修饰疑问代词、疑问副词或不定代词、不定副词，置于这些词之后。
We had nothing else to do on those long trips.
other形容词, 修饰名词，置于名词之前。
He had to accept it; there was no other way.
2.One of them died but the other ran towards my house.
one…the other…表示 “(两者中的)一个……另一个……”。
例如：我有两支钢笔，一支是红色的，另一支是黑色的。
I have two pens,one is red and the other is black.
3.So I will not give up and I will wait for another ship.因此我不放弃，要等候另一只船。
another 既可用作形容词，也可用作代词。用作形容词时，意思是“又一的；再一的”，修饰名词，位于名词前；用作代词时，意思是“另一个”。

Saying is one thing and doing is another.
another还可以和数词连用，常放在数词的前面，意为“还；再；又”。
We need another three man to help do the work.

see sb. doing sth.意为“看到某人正在做某事”，强调看到的动作正在进行。

see sb. do sth. 意为“看到某人做了某事”，强调看到动作的全过程。
Mary saw him clean the classroom.
5.I named him Friday because that was the day I met him.我叫他Friday因为那是我遇见他的那一天。
name作动词，意为“命名；给……取名”。固定搭配“name + sb. + 名字”意为“给某人取名为……”。
Lucy named her little son David.露西给她的小儿子取名为戴维。
A boy named Tom is very tall.
6.One of them died but the other ran towards my house.
towards prep. 朝；向；对着
【易混辨析】towards 与 to
towards在美式英语中也常写作toward。表示动作朝向，强调方向。
I saw her walking towards the bank.
to一般位于come，go，move等动词后，强调目的地。
We go to school by bus.

It is an exciting story: Robinson Crusoe hated the comfortable life in his hometown. So, he wanted to be a seaman and traveled around the world. But one day, a terrible thing happened. A great storm came and their boat crashed! No one was alive in this accident except Robinson. He was the luckiest man in the world, because all his friends were dead but he was alive. However, at the same time he was the most tragic man of all —He must face the fact. Alone on an island without food, water or gun! But, all roads lead to Rome! He just used his hands to work hard! Then, he made a cave, built a house, grew corn and kept goats. In the end, he could enjoy the life on the island. In his twenty-fourth year on the island, he saved a wild man, and gave him the name of “Friday”. With Robinson s teaching, “Friday” became a good servant. Finally, they got a boat and escaped from the island.
Surely, the writer of Robinson Crusoe is really a hero! It’s too hard to describe Robinson with words. We could say that Robinson was very clever, and also he was brave… Certainly, too many good words can describe him. But now, I think it isn’t important. The most important thing is what we have learned from the story. That is, use our own hands to work hard with confidence!
