Listening to the radio is something that I really like to do. Whether it’s to listen to my favorite songs, catch up on the latest news or just listen to something to help me relax, the radio is always there for me!
I’m surprised when talking to my students in school, to find out that many of them hardly ever listen to the radio because they think it’s boring. I always listen to the radio when I’m driving my car or doing my housework. The radio can also be very useful for me as it often has traffic updates (最新消息) which tell me whether the road I want to use has a traffic jam on it.
There is a song by The Buggles called “Video Killed the Radio Star”, which I used to listen to a lot, and now it makes more sense to me. Have TV and the Internet taken the place of the radio for many people
Now I am living in Germany, and I recently managed to get hold of an old radio for free and so now I like to listen to it when I’m getting ready in the morning and when I’m making my tea. Of course it can be annoying when a song that I don’t like comes on the radio but most of time I like the music that is played and it is also a good way for me to hear new songs. Listening to my new radio in German is good for my language learning because I can listen to the news, and also hear new German songs.
I’ve always listened to the radio since I was young and thought that it is a very popular way to listen to music and news, but after talking with my students I have found that might not be the case anymore. Whatever people think, you will still always find me dancing around my room listening to the radio!

Technology has changed almost every way of our life and now it seems to be the time to update education systems around the world. Children and young adults make up one-third of the Internet users, so it’s no surprise that they are more hyper-connected than their parents.
In a survey of 1,400 educators, most of them believe that classrooms of the future will be centered on personalized (个性化的) learning. This student-centered way will allow children to choose their own pace and learning goals based on personal interests, all of which can be guided by AI chatting robots (chatbots) and video-based learning.
AI in education specially focuses on telling what a student does or doesn’t know, and then develops personalized courses for each student. Chatbots are also quickly becoming a key tool in the next generation education. Designed to simplify the exchange of ideas and information between students and computers, chatbots provide a lot of benefits. Although video-based learning may not necessarily be considered as creative as AI or chatbots, 98% of the educators view it as an important part of personalized learning experiences. Some schools report bringing video teaching into their courses in some way, but even higher demand for video-based learning may come from students in the near future.
The new classroom learning style is completely different from the traditional learning style and is considered to be a great change in how students get information. However, research has shown that children will keep getting information from books besides screens. Obviously, low-tech schools are more likely to believe that human interaction is important when it comes to keeping children interested and excited to learn.
Although we may not be in the age of online teachers, the benefits of technology as a teaching aid are true. However, what’s more important is that these aids are helping keep students rather than technology at the heart of education.
What will future classrooms focus on according to the survey
A. Self-paced learning.
B. Learning without goals.
C. The teacher-centered way.
D. The traditional learning way.
9. What are chatbots used to do
A. Create wealth. B. Train educators.
C. Improve communication. D. Develop courses.
10. What can we learn from paragraph 4
A. Low-tech schools are on the rise.
B. Children will completely depend on screens.
C. The way to get information should be changed.
D. Students will still get information from books.
11. What is the text mainly about
A. Why education is important.
B. How robots will replace teachers.
C. How technology shapes the future education.
D. Why computers will play a role in the future education.
D
“A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots (靴子) on,” said Mark Twain. In today’s Internet world of “fake (假的) news”, lies spread even faster and the truth is having trouble finding its boots.
To make matters worse, most young people get news from social media sites where facts are mixed with rumors (谣言), half-truths and complete lies. This has led to young people becoming confused. In the latest PISA, which tested 15-year-olds worldwide on academic subjects, fewer than one in ten of the examinees were reported to be able to recognize facts from opinions. A Stanford University study showed that students at all levels of education could not tell real news from fake news. In one instance, 80 percent thought that a paid advertisement was a real news story.
Fake news is spread by people who have a prejudice (偏见). They want to influence public opinion either for or against something or someone. It is important, then, for young people to recognize when they are being used and to be doubtful about online information.
Traditional media, such as newspapers and television, are still the more credible sources of information. Reporters are professionals trained to look for facts, and editors have the job of making sure those facts are correct. However, if you are getting most of your information online, you have to be your own editor. In that case, the first thing to do is to look at the writer of a post. Is this person known to be objective Does the site where you read the post have a prejudice Next, look for other sources from mainstream media to make sure the information. In other words, by putting on your truth boots you won’t be fooled into chasing lies.
12. What does the writer say about young people with news around
A. They make fake news and spread it.
B. They are easily fooled by fake news.
C. They get worried about their education.
D. They can recognize facts from opinions.
13. What does the underlined word “credible” in the last paragraph mean
A. Primary. B. Realistic. C. Believable. D. Important.
14. According to the writer, what can help us avoid being fooled by fake news
A. Only looking for news through media.
B. Becoming a professional and trained reporter.
C. Comparing the news from different sources.
D. Focusing on the news instead of the writer.

How to protect ourselves on the Internet
The Internet brings us convenience, but it also exposes us to dangers. Therefore, learning to protect ourselves on the Internet becomes increasingly important.
First, don’t give away our personal information and that of our families easily, because the information can be sold. Second, don’t trust strangers easily on the Internet whatever they may promise you. Those promises and benefits are probably just bait. Last but not least, don’t be addicted to the Internet and spend more time with our families and friends.
The Internet is a double-edged sword which can do us harm as well as good. It depends on our choice.
Thank you!
