Project in Singapore The fantastic man-made "forest" is a Singaporean landmark. It is made from steel and concrete(混凝土) covered in flowers and plants. At night, 18 solar-powered tree-like towers which get their energy from the sun often light up the city. The project was awarded "the World Building of the Year" and its designer said the idea was to create "a city in a garden". Clearly, the special way of building up the forest makes a difference to the public's awareness of the environment.
Project in Milan By decorating the buildings from top to bottom with more than 20,000 trees and plants, Italian architect Stefano Boeri said he'd wanted to make trees part of the buildings and create something that could help to reduce pollution. These buildings lie in the center of the city, Milan. Which types of trees are planted and where the trees are planted depend on the trees' likes for sunlight. There is no doubt that this award-winning project is a great work. Project in Medellin Medellin has won high praise for its "green corridors(走廊)". This project helps the city which used to be poor and dirty get a new look. Now the 30 corridors full of trees and flowers connect green spaces such as parks and gardens in Medellin. The green corridors have reduced the temperature by 2-3 degrees and helped make the air clean. Bees and birds have returned. To make the beauty of the city remain, more gardening jobs have been created. Because of this, people there live more actively. It is one of the best examples driven by the government which improves the environment.

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was a great success.China has kept the promise to hold a green Olympics. Many green actions made it possible, like providing environmentally friendly smart beds, using new energy(能源) cars, supporting sporting places with 100% clean energy and reusing rain and snow water.
Take making ice as an example.China didn't use R507,a common material, to make ice because it isn't friendly enough to the environment.Through 18 months' hard work, China independently developed the CO2 direct cooling technology.
A net of tubes runs under the ice.High-pressure liquid(液态)CO2 goes through them to create heat(热) exchange. The CO2 evaporates(蒸发) under the ice surface. The evaporation takes in heat and turns water on the surface into ice.And the CO2 goes into another circle. This technology helps to make ice better and faster. And above all, it is much greener because there's no new CO2 produced. Among all the 15 ice sporting places in the Winter Olympics,7 used the CO2 direct cooling technology to make ice.As a result, much less pollution was caused.
Beijing did so much more to save energy.Beijing built the new sporting places with green materials. As for the old ones,Beijing used new glass walls to take the place of traditional walls to let more natural light in.70% of the waste heat was also reused to keep warm and dry.And a large number of new energy cars were used at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is the first to truly achieve carbon neutrality(碳中和), and it has set new standards in green technologies. Some newspapers say China has set an example for the world in environmental protection and green development.
( )24.How long did it take China to develop the CO2 direct cooling technology
A. 18 months. B. 100 weeks.
C. 15 days. D. 7 years.
( )25.The writer writes Para. 3 to show .
A. why the CO2 goes into another circle
B. how the new ice-making technology helped
C. how sporting places used the new technology
D. why the liquid CO2 runs through the net of tubes
( )26.According to the passage,we can infer(推断) that .
A. all the buildings will be built with glass walls in the near future
B. the CO2 direct cooling technology may be widely used in the world
C. the high-pressure liquid CO2 will totally take the place of R507 soon
D. no new standards in green technologies may be set after the Olympics
( )27.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage
A. A New Green Ice-Making Technology
B. Green Technologies Used in Sports
C. A Shared Future of Green Development
D. The Green Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics

In Antarctica (南极洲), about 12.3 million km2 of its area are covered with ice. At present, this continent holds about 26.5 million cubic(立方的) km of ice. However, according to a report, nearly one-fifth of the total Antarctic ice sheet(冰盖) surface has experienced observable melting(融化) during the past two decades(十年). Also, it is predicted that the melting conditions of the Antarctic ice sheet will continue to increase and will be almost impossible to reverse(逆转), even if global emissions reduction goals are reached.
Climate change and extreme weather may cause the melting in this world's southernmost(最南端的) continent and may have significant influences — from changing animals' living places to increasing global sea levels. If all that ice melts, it would raise the global sea level by 58.3 meters — enough to submerge thousands of cities in the near future. The ice is melting so fast that it would also have a great influence on animals living on this icy continent.
According to another research published in Nature, over the past 40,000 years, ice sheets thousands of kilometers away have influenced one another through sea level changes, and the changes in the Antarctic ice sheet were driven by the melting ice sheets in the northern hemisphere. This study shows how interconnected the Earth system is.
We mankind is a community of shared future. Without doubts, in the history of the pursuit (追求) of economic development, the world has faced many challenges, like the melting in Antarctica mentioned above. Only when all countries work together to care about our environment while developing can we rise to the challenges in the end.
( )28 About of Antarctic ice sheet surface has melted over the past twenty years.
A. 2.46 million km3. B. 5.3 million km3.
C. 12.3 million km3. D. 26.5 million km3.
( )29.What does the underlined word "submerge" in Paragraph 2 probably mean in Chinese
A. 冰冻 B. 淹没 C. 合并 D. 建造
( )30.Which of the following can best describe the writer's opinion in the last paragraph
A. One piece of firewood does not make high flames.
B. It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.
C. All things are difficult before they are easy.
D. A long journey can be covered only by taking one step at a time.
( )31.What can be inferred from the text
A. We have to give up the pursuit of economic development.
B. The melting ice was caused by the increasing global sea levels.
C. The changes in one part of the Earth system will influence another.
D. If global emissions are reduced, the melting ice sheet can come back.

Plastic brings us convenience, and pollution as well. 32. It's in our food and drinks, in the clothes we wear and even in the air we breathe.
Some very tiny pieces of plastic are called microplastics (微塑料). The largest microplastics can be directly seen. 33. What should we do then
34. Any time plastic boxes are heated, microplastics can get into your food. If you can't avoid using plastic boxes, try not to heat food in them.
Use a glass or metal cup instead of a plastic one. Researchers have found that bottled water has more microplastics than tap water. 35. So if you like drinking coffee, hot milk or other hot drinks, remember to use a glass or metal cup.
Since plastic is everywhere, researchers suggest that we should be careful with possible microplastics in life. They may be from baby toys, pens, and even phones we use every day. 36.

One possible version:
Dear schoolmates,
Recently, it's said that the use of textbooks is becoming a big waste. Our school has done a research about recycling textbooks.
38% of the students think textbooks should not be recycled, because they think some students want to take notes by themselves. Also, they are worried about public health. However, 62% of the students think textbooks should be recycled because recycling textbooks is a good way to save the forest. For another reason, it's good for us to learn from others' notes.
In my opinion, it is necessary to recycle textbooks. Recycling textbooks not only can save resources but also can help us take up a good hobby to save money.
All small things can add up and become big things that can improve the environment. Let's take action to recycle textbooks together!
