Ernest Hemingway(1899-1961) was an American novelist and short-story writer who came to literary prominence following the First World War, as a member of the so called “Lost Generation ”in the 1920s.

He went on to become foreign correspondent for the Toronto Star and used his extraordinary experiences in Europe and later Cuba to inform his writing.
