歌曲可以激发学生的学习兴趣,巩固复习月份和节日相关的知识。以谈话方式导入教学,自然亲切地创设真实有效的教学情境。通过图片,直观呈现本环节的主题。提出问题,让学生通过图片来预测答案,有效扩大学生的想象空间,提升学生的观察能力和思维品质,巩固已经学过的知识。通过让学生回答不同节日的具体日期,巩固学生对于目标句型的理解。学生创编对话,并戴头套表演,一方面激发学生的学习兴趣,另一方面也复习节日和日期的表达。

Step 1: Warm-up & Lead-in
1. Greetings.
2. Sing a song—Months of the year. (出示课件)
3. Free talk.
T: Do you like this song What’s it about
Ss: Yes. It’s about the twelve months.
T: Which month do you like best
Ss: October.…
T: Why
Ss: Because National Day is in October./…
T: Can you guess my favourite month
Ss: It’s…
T: Nice guess. My favourite month is July. Because I can have a summer holiday. I like summer very much. Our friend Mike likes summer, too. Let’s have a look together.
Step 2: Presentation
1.Show a picture of summer camp. (课件出示:Mike在夏令营的图片。)
T: Look at the picture. What’s it about
Ss: It’s about summer camp.
T: Who is at summer camp
Ss: Mike.
T: What will he do Please try to guess!
The teacher shows the pictures of “Mike’s summer camp”.
Students look, think and guess. (课件出示:教材P66 第一部分四幅图。)
Ss: He will…/Maybe he will…
The teacher writes down “…will…” on the blackboard.
2. Listen and match.
Play the recording of “Mike’s summer camp”. Let students listen and finish the task.
T: What will Mike do Please open your book, and turn to Page 66. Listen to the recording and match.
If students can't finish the task by themselves, the teacher can play the recording of the four dialogues one by one and offer some help.
Check the answers. (课件出示:听力材料及答案。)
3. Listen and tick.
Show the pictures. (课件出示:教材P66第二部分图片。)
T: There are many children at summer camp. What are the children doing now Please listen to dialogue 2 and tick the right picture.
Then check the answer. (课件出示:听力材料及答案。)
4. Students listen to dialogues 1 and 4. Choose the right answers.
Check the answers. (课件出示:听力材料及答案。)
5. Read and act.
The teacher plays the recording of the four dialogues.
(1)Students read after the recording. Pay attention to the pronunciation and the intonation.
(2)Let students practice the dialogues in groups.
(3)Act them out.
Step 3:Practice
Play a game.
T: Summer camp is very interesting. Summer is really a wonderful season. How many seasons are there in a year
Ss: There are four seasons in a year.
T: How many months are there in a year
Ss: There are twelve months in a year.
The teacher shows some cards.
T: Look! There are some cards about the months. Now let’s play a game!
The teacher chooses one student to come to the front of the classroom and hold up a card. For example, the student holds up the card “January”, then the others should say out the next month “February” quickly.
Students play the game together until they practice all the twelve words of months.
Read and write.
T: We know there are twelve months in a year. How many days are there in a month
Ss: 28/29/30/31 days.
T: Now please read the chant, and write the months in the correct column.
Students read the chant and finish the column.
Check the answers together.
T: Which month has 28 or 29 days
Ss: February.
T: Yes. February has twenty-eight days. But in leap year, it has twenty-nine days.
The teacher explains the meaning of “leap”.
T: Which months have 30 days
Ss: April, June, September and November.
T: Which months have 31 days
Ss: January, March, May, July, August, October and December.
Step 4: Consolidation & Extension
Prepare some animal head masks. Divide the whole class into several groups. Different group members have different head masks in groups.
Make dialogues.
T: Boys and girls, what special days can you remember
Ss: New Year’s Day/Tree Planting Day/Children’s Day/Mid-Autumn Day/Teachers’ Day/My birthday.
T: Please make dialogues about these special days. You can start in groups like this:
A: Pandas, pandas and pandas. Tell me when Children’s Day comes.
B: It’s on June 1st.
Show the dialogues.
Students show the dialogues in the front of the classroom.
