教学目标
1)Ss are able to use simple present tense to express simple truths about water. e.g. Water has no taste at all
2) Ss are able to use infinitives to describe the usage of the water. e.g. We use water to make things in the factories.
3) Ss are able to use adverbs to indicate the sequence of an event. e.g. First water comes through very long, wide pipes. Next it goes into reservoirs ....
学情分析
In this period, the students are going to use the modal structure to ask and get the information.. By the end of this period, they will be able to do a brain storm about water. Then make a report.
重点难点
key points:
1) Be able to listen, say, read and write the new words and phrases: waterfall,
pump, well, everywhere, bath, at home, at work, have showers,have a bath, make things in factories, litre, wide, pipe, reservoir
2) Be able to listen, say and read the new sentence structures: Where can we see
water We can see water in the...How do we use water at home/at work We use
water to...How does water come to our homes First.... Next... Then... Finally...
Difficult points:
1) Be able to use infinitives to describe the usage of the water. e.g. We use water to make things in the factories.
2) Be able to use the sentence patterns learnt in this lesson to give a report
about water
设计思路:
本课为本单元的第一教时。Water是一个略带科普色彩且为学生所熟悉的话题,备课时,我没有直接引入课本中的情景(Mr Hu and his students),因为生活就是最好的情景,既然这个主题非常贴近学生的生活实际,学生对于水又有着颇多的感受,因此我就以Water为主线,结合学生所熟悉的话题展开本单元教学。
以下是我自己编写的一个主题文本:
Water
Water is a kind of liquid. It has no taste or smell at all. It is transparent. Water is everywhere around us.
Water is important and useful to us. We can't live without water. We use water to do a lot of things. We use millions of liters of water every day.
Do you know how water comes to our homes First, it comes through water pipes. Some are long and wide but some are short and narrow. Next, the water goes into the reservoirs. Then, a special factory makes the water clean. Finally, it goes through water pipes to our homes.
此文本的编写目的有三:一、引导学生总结发现水的一些相关信息,将一些单独的、零碎的信息予以整合,达到一个整体输入的效果;二、将课本中的Poem巧妙地融入文本教学中;三、适度拓展语言信息量,为学生语言输出提供更多语言素材。自编文本简析:文本第一段主要阐述了水的特性,继而提出:Water is everywhere around us. So where can we see water 文本第二段主要阐述了水的用途,然后引导学生讨论:Water is important and useful. How do we use water 文本第三段主要阐述了家用水的形成,帮助学生了解:How does water come to our homes
教学步骤:
Step1:由于是借班上课,为了缓解气氛,增进师生间的相互了解,该环节安排了一个特别的Free talk:引导学生依次运用屏幕上所示单词(wash,city,summer,drink)向教师提问(培养学生的提问能力),同时教师反问另外一名学生类似的问题,增加了free talk的操练密度,让更多的学生在这个环节中快速参与进来,充分调动学生的学习积极性。教师临场回答学生的这些问题时,有意识地使自己的答句与水有一定的联系。Free talk之后,这些刚才用来提问的单词中的一些字母,构成了一个新的词,谜底就是water——今日主题。
Step2:通过识别游戏引导学生从watch(用眼睛)、smell(用鼻子)、taste(用舌头)三个方面感知了解水的特性,即:Water is transparent. Water has no smell at all. Water has no taste at all.
Step3:出示文本第一部分,引出问题:Where can we see water 通过“探照灯”的游戏,总结和水有关的单词,其中:waterfall, pump, well为新授单词,其余单词为唤醒旧知,形成新的知识体系。由于本环节单词比较多,所以采用了分层呈现:第一层是图片提示,第二层是首字母提示,第三层是引出新单词及教授。游戏之后,欣赏一首歌谣(课本中的Poem),并让学生试着填入所缺单词,复习刚才习得部分。
Step4:出示文本第二部分,引出问题:How do we use water 引导学生观看一段flash,然后比一比谁记住的信息量多,请学生根据刚才片中获取的信息来回答:How do we use water 根据学生的回答,贴出词组卡片。然后学生分组讨论,根据大家手里的彩色图片来生成句子。最后全班交流,用的是生问生答的交流方式,这时老师有意识地提问一些同学,这些同学手中的图片内容是之前尚未提到过的,还没有上板书的,随着他们的回答,这部分词组也很自然地上了黑板。最后带领学生进行总结。该环节涉及到大量的词组,但这些词组中没有生僻的单词,而且比较贴近生活,对于学生来说是比较容易掌握的。
Step5:出示文本第三部分,引出问题:How does water come to our homes 学生通过jigsaw reading的方式来获取这部分的信息。在此过程中,引导学生在句子的语境和图片及英文的提示下,习得生词:wide,narrow, pipe, reservoir, 并了解:first, next, then ,finally等表示序列的词。这部分的内容相比前两部分,稍显抽象和枯燥,为了帮助学生更为形象地理解,安排表演环节来破冰。
Step6:请学生分组朗读文本,巩固所学。(没有全班齐读是因为,后面的report中,学生是帮助老师一起来呈现的,他们朗读的部分,其实就是此文本部分。因此这里不重复安排齐读。由于每个学生的语速和理解能力均不同,分组自读,可以让他们根据各自不同的情况来自由朗读,从而不会受到外来的影响和牵绊。)之后以brain storm的方式,帮学生回顾总结本课获得的有关Water的语言信息。
Step7:出示老师写的一个water report,让学生设想如果没有水,我们的生活将是什么样的(以西部干旱地区的图片作为背景,教师同时口述最后一段,根据照片描述1~2句话,进行德育渗透),揭示世界爱水日的主题,教育学生应节约用水,创造更美好的世界。
Step8:引导学生以老师的report作为sample, 以本课的文本为基本结构,以小组为单位来扩充完成自己的water report,并进行小组合作交流。
