1. straight
① straight用作形容词，意为“直的”，其反义词是curly意为
“卷曲的”。
Kate has straight hair. 凯特留着直发。
I’m going straight to bed when I get home. 我打算一到家就睡觉。
② straight用作副词，意为“笔直的；成直线；径直”。

2. tall adj. 高的
辨析：tall与high
① tall常指人、动物、树、建筑物等的“高”，其反义词short。
tall可以和表示度量的名词构成短语，短语中的tall要置于
表示度量词的名词之后。
He is a tall boy. 他是个高个子男孩。
He lives in a tall building. 他住在一幢高楼里。
The tree is five meters tall. 这棵树有5米高。

② high多指山高，也指空间的位置或程度上高，还可指抽象
意义上的“高”，如物价、速度、温度等方面的“高”，其反
义词为low。

3. medium height
① height用作名词，意为“身高；高度”，其形容词是high“高
的”。询问某人的身高或某物的高度是多少时，常用
“What’s the height of ... ”或 “What’s one’s height ”，相当
于“How high/tall is ... ”。
What’s the height of that wall 那堵墙有多高？
=What’s that wall’s height
=How tall/high is the wall

② height可与介词in连用，常用于描述某人或某物高度的句子
中，其结构为 “Sb. /Sth. +be +数词+meter(s) /foot (feet) in
height.”此时，in height相当于形容词tall或high。
He is two meters in height. 他身高两米。
=He is two meters tall.

4. heavy adj. 重的
① heavy修饰人，意为“重的；胖的”。同义词是fat。
His brother is a little heavy. 他哥哥有点胖。
The box is too heavy. 这个箱子太重了。
There will be a heavy rain tomorrow. 明天将有一场大雨。
② heavy修饰物，意为“沉的；重的”。反义词是light (轻的)。
③ heavy表示雨或雪大，意为“大(量)的；猛烈的”，副词形式
是heavily。

5. What does he look like
(1) What +do/does +主语+ look like 某人长什么样？
其答语有以下三种：
① 主语+be+形容词(表示外貌特征的形容词).
② 主语+have/has+名词(名词可有多个形容词修饰).
③ 主语+be of + ... height /build.

① look like只用来询问人物外貌。
② be like既可用来询问人的性格、品行，也可询问人的外貌。
(2) 辨析：look like与be like
--What does he look like 他长什么样子？
--He is tall and thin. 他又高又瘦。
--What is he like 他是个怎样的人？
--He is very friendly. 他非常友好。

许多下载我的课件的老师可能都遇到了同样的麻烦：听力操作比较麻烦。好多老师在给学生播放听力时，习惯于点击课件上的“小喇叭”图标，在使用我的课件时也用了同样的方法，结果却遇到了前所未有的麻烦，不知怎么办才好。下面我给大家讲解一下我的课件中的听力操作方法：
我的音频是嵌入式音频，所以老师们在使用我的课件的时候，不需要把课件和听力音频放到同一文件夹中，只需要课件就可以了。播放听力时，只需在其他任何地方按鼠标左键就可以了（不要点击小喇叭），就跟其他动画操作一样。用翻页笔的老师，只需要按翻页笔的“下一页”即可；如果想再听一遍，先按翻页笔的“上一页”，再按“下一页”就可以重复听。听完后如果按“下一页”，答案就会出现。
简单的一句话，我的课件中要播放听力，只需下翻页就可以。跟其他动画操作一样。
