Step1: Pre-listening
1. Listen, point and say.
Learn the new word: was. 板书 I was short. Now I'm tall. Read together. Then ask and answer. T: Who's this Ss: It's Sam. T: How old was he then Ss: He was one. T: Look, compare, Sam is tall now, How about then 用手指Sam一岁时，引导学生说出句子He was short. Learn the new word: then.
Step2 While-listening
1. Listen, point and find “was, were”.
点读笔放录音，请同学们认真指图指句子，找出含有was和were的句子。 Learn the new words: were, young, hair, so, short. We are young now.
2. Listen and answer.
Learn the new word: grandparent, old. 板书They are old.
3. Look, listen and answer.
