Analysis of the unit(单元教学内容分析)
1.本单元的话题是“Families Celebrate Together”。单元内容主要涉及中秋节和感恩节;家庭庆祝活动;购买礼物、准备礼物和庆祝李明的生日。它包含六个语篇:L13中秋节和感恩节,L14介绍了家庭庆祝活动,L15购买礼物,L16庆祝感恩节,L17为朋友准备礼物,L18介绍李明的生日情况。
本单元主要任务是通过了解世界主要国家的文化和节日,如何记录家庭记忆,以及通过准备生日礼物来介绍正确的人际沟通方法,向我们展示了了解世界文化和重要节日对于培养学生的正确价值观,思维品质和文化意识的重要性,传达了文化交际要达到立德树人和文化自信的最终目标。
2.主要语法项目:名词所有格和when引导的时间状语从句用法。
3.语言功能项目:谈论家庭庆祝活动、谈论尺寸。
The aim of the core literacy of English discipline (英语学科核心素养目标):
1. Linguistic competences / Language skills
T will help Ss develop their skills of
A) listening and reading by training their micro-skills, such as predicting, getting the main information by listening, understanding the text by detailed reading, integrating and applying the new knowledge (Family celebrate together: festivals, gifts, etc) summarizing and so on.
B) doing things in English, such as talking about family celebrations ( stay in touch with, give a big hug, best wishes to, make a wish...); possessive case; using adverbial clause with “when” to talk about things.
2. Cultural awareness
A) Ss can conclude how to celebrate the main festivals in the world. (Mid-autumn Festival and Thanksgiving).
B) Ss can have the confidence of Chinese culture.
3. Thinking quality
A) Ss can find out, discriminate and summarize the new linguistic phenomena. ( stay in touch with, give a big hug, best wishes to, make a wish...; possessive case; using adverbial clause with “when” to talk about things).
B) They can treat (看待) different culture in a correct way. C) They can creatively voice their own ideas about different cultures at home and abroad.
4. Learning ability
A) Ss will keep their interest in and participate in learning English actively.

C) They will improve their learning ability by reading some more extended reading materials in or out of class.
At last, it should be emphasized that the teaching objectives of this unit are not only to help Ss improve their core competences but also foster their determination of cultivating students’ correct value-communicating in a correct way, caring family, being grateful.
