一、教材分析:
Unit 8 Lesson 1 ROOTS & SHOOTS 教学设计
本节课是北师大教材高中英语第三册 Unit 8 Green Living 的第一课 Roots and Shoots,课型是阅读课。本课主要是让学生了解到我们的日常小的不良行为也会对我们生活的环境和整个世界造成极大的伤害,同时介绍了 Dr. Jane Goodall 所创立的 ROOTS & SHOOTS, 让同学们能深刻的认识到我们每一个人都应该为这个世界的更美好做出自己应有的贡献。
二、教学目标和核心素养:
1. 语言技能目标
(1) 学生能够利用正确的阅读技巧快速的获取段落大意,并能理解文章的基本结构;
(2) 学生能够完成表格信息的填空;
(3) 用所学的词汇和句型的对 ROOTS & SHOOTS 进行简要介绍;
(4) 能够找出作者在文中所使用的写作方法和写作技巧。
2. 语言知识目标
(1)能够正确运用以下单词和短语: bother, inspire, take action, community, in addition to, be committed to, firm, foundation, make a difference, absent 等。
3. 文化意识目标
(1) 了解环保、节能相关话题;
(2) 了解更多 ROOTS & SHOOTS 的信息,增加自己的环保知识和提高环保意识
4. 情感态度目标
正确认识环保、节能的重要性,以及如何在日常生活中做到环保和节能。
三、重难点
1. 重点
(1) 运用文章出现的词汇和句型结构介绍 ROOTS & SHOOTS
(2) 能够运用所学对环保、节能表达自己的看法。
2. 难点
(1)理解作者在文中所使用的一些表达技巧,像引用,平行结构和举例等。
四、教学步骤:
1. warm-up and share
Students watch the pictures themed on environmental pollution and share their own opinions.

II. What causes these phenomena
设计意图:课程开始阶段热身,通过有冲击力和吸引力的图片,引导学生进入这一主题,激发他们参与课堂的积极性和热情。
2. lead-in
This step is to lead the students to the topic--Roots and Shoots. Look at the pictures and discuss the following questions.
I. What is happening in each picture
II. Have you ever done any of these things
III. What would happen if everybody did the same things
设计意图:紧扣上一环节的讨论,教师引导学生在阅读课文前进行一些与本课相关背景知识的表达,并鼓励学生与同学分享观点,激发学生的兴趣。此外,通过口头表达训练,可以锻炼学生口语能力和思维灵活性,为课文相关内容铺平道路。

设计意图:通过层层的推进,得出一个结论:Your wrong behaviors and opinions would be very harmful. 同时一步一步引导学生给 Just-me-ism 下一个定义,了解下定义的常见格式。
4. Read paragraph 2 -3 and finish the table and get the information and sentence patterns about ROOTS and SHOOTS.

设计意图:锻炼学生的阅读获取具体信息的和加工处理信息的能力,在读的过程中获取的句式为下一步介绍 ROOTS & SHOOTS 做好铺垫。

设计意图:引导学生了解说理和介绍过程中常用的一些写作技巧,为后面的课后作业打下基

6. 4 students work in a group to make a poster to introduce ROOTS & SHOOTS to your school- mates, including the basic information in the text.
设计意图:我们在前面已经把这个机构相关的信息和介绍它所需要的基本句式都掌握了。输入之后就是输出,这时候让学生制作一幅海报对这一机构加以介绍,正当时。
7. Assignment
Please create or introduce an organization in our own school or community. The content includes:

(3) The meaning of the name
(4) its slogan
设计意图:课后作业是课堂内容的自然延伸,在具备了基本思路和基本句式还有了基本的环保和利他思想以后,利用这样一个作业来深化学生对相关知识的掌握。
